Heavy Rain Review

Heavy Rain Is a game unlike anything I've played before. The story and emotion had me caring for the characters. Is this the best game ever made? No, but it's something everybody needs to experience.
The story is about a serial Killer named "The Origami Killer" Who has been killing boys in an eat coat town. There are 4 playable characters you take control of throughout the story. One of them, is Ethan an architect who was married with two kids, but after his eldest son is struck and killed by a car, he separates from his wife and is distant from his youngest son. Ethan fall into a deep depression and experiences blackouts. One day Ethan spends time with his kid at the park, and suffers a blackout waking up several hours later and his son missing. Later it is believed he was taken by the Origami killer. Norman Jayden is an F.B.I. Profiler sent to help the police capture the serial killer, he has a drug problem which you deal with trough out the game. Madison Paige is a journalist who helps Ethan track down the killer. Scott Shelby is a private detective hired by the family of the Origami Victims to track him down.

The game play, which is mostly quick time events makes the story progress, and when there is action the quick time events if done correctly will get you out of the situation alive, if not..well this will go horribly wrong. This call for some of the most tense moments I've had in my history of playing video games. There are many outcomes throughout the game and there are several endings. If one of the 4 characters you play dies, there is no game over, the game just continues on with out that character. It's crazy but it works. It's a great mystery story and when the climax arrives I found myself pretty shocked on who the killer is. I got the "Good" ending. This game ain't afraid of showing nudity or sex, so don't play this around kids or old people.

Now to the bad. When moving the character, its controlled like an old school resident evil game. So it's kind of awkward. The voice acting is not great, clearly not voiced by Americans it's annoying to hear and weird. Even if the game was made by a French video game developer, it could have shelled out a few extra bucks to hire American Voice actors. BUT these drawbacks in no way take away from the incredible experience this game offers.

Now it's an 8 hour game. It may seem short but there are many ways to play this game with several outcomes..It's a definite BUY

Grow up

I start My first day of work tomorrow. I was working a decent job before but it was one of those if we need people then we'll call you. So it wasn't consistent. It will be good to have a full time job again. But We'll see how everything works my first day.

Last night I went out with friends, drank and watched a movie..well I fell asleep about 10 minutes in..BORING. I need to stop doing that sort of stuff, cut it back to drinking maybe every payday or so. I NEED TO GROW the f&&%* up.

Heavy Rain first impressions

Picked up Heavy Rain this morning, not really knowing what I was getting, But I heard a lot of good things about it.

This game is something else...I am loving every single minute of it. it's pretty emotional in some areas, i don't want to ruin it. The story is gripping, the action which is mainly hitting the right button at the right time is frantic and TENSE. It's more of an "Interactive drama" than anything else, spanning 4 characters. There was a chapter of the game where my character had to drive onto incoming traffic and try to survive, after doing that sequence I had to pause the game for a minute and catch my breath. There is no game out there like this. I'm not a PS3 fanboy but the Xbox 360 could not handle a game like this. SHHHH don't tell Xbox I said that.

I can't wait to finish it, then go back and do thing differently, because the choices you make during the game affect the outcome of the game.

I got a FULL time job..FIANLLY

So I was told trough church that Comfort Inn had a few positions open, since a lot of people where let go due to not having Legal papers to work in the U.S. I went in talked to the manager, filled out an application, was interviewed and offered a job withing 10 minutes. Now pending my background check which SHOULD come back clean, I will start work ASAP. The manager was very nice, I told him off the bat that I had my kid every other weekend and he had no problem with that, he is willing to work around it. So hope everything comes back OK, so I can can finally get a FULL time job. Feeling good.

I'm so glad that Gamestop is having a 50% bonus trade in for the next couple of weeks. I am going to trade in MW2 for Dragon Age maybe. I'm tired of MW2 it's boring and tired of the cheaters on there. Will I buy it down the line for the 1000Th time? sure when it's cheap, which I always see deals going on where it sales for half the regular price. But as of now I'm done with it for a while, even playing with friends can't help me with how shitty it is.

I picked up The Sims 2 at bookmans for 8 bucks. It came with an expansion pack called night life. The game is about 6 years old, and it's very addicting. I thought the first one was fun, but part 2 blows it out of the water. I created a sim of myself and my kid. It's a lot of work to keep their needs up. I meet a chick while out at a bowling alley, had her move in and married her. I was told by my kids school that my kid is failing miserably. Turns out that he has to study and get better at it. I can also help with his homework. There's way too much to do in this game. It's very fun.

My Sims history

My sister bought The Original Sims about 2 years back, she's a fan of the game. I remember buying that game back when it was first released in 2000. Actually I bought it with my very last Paycheck from a job i was let go from, the game cost about 90% of my final check. I had a computer that we got back in '97. So when I installed it and got it up and running, my computer couldn't handle it...I mean It ran it, it just handled it bad...The next time I played a Sims game was in 2006, it was The Sims 2. This time I had a computer that could handle any game well. I tried it but couldn't get into it. I haven't tried The Sims 3, but plan to in the near future.
So today I played a little bit of The original game, and I had a fun time. Sure its outdated, but the lasting appeal is still there. I'm going to work my way up to part 3, part 2 is dirt cheap now and comes with a shitload of expansions.

My son ended up dying after I put fireworks in his bedroom for him to play with....The grim reaper is there to collect :(

Indie games

Bought a little game called Splosion man on Xbox Live. Your this experiment that escapes, and your ability is that you explode to jump up in the air and to kill enemies or scientist. It gets challenging as you progress.

Also been checking into Indie games on there as well. They are very cheap most of them you will fin for $1. I purchased I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1N IT!!! it's a zombie survival game from an overhead point of view. You shoot and power up your weapons as you go. The song that plays during the game is classic. Definitely worth a buck.

It's been a customary thing to watch Life Unexpected, A show that's 4 or 5 episodes into its first season on the CW. I'm not into these type of shows, but watching it with my girlfriend or Mom and sister is worth it. Call me a pansy!!

I'm suppose to send my brother a script or a partial one so he can show to his contact he has in Hollywood. I had a few saved on my computer, but I left my computer on one day, left the house my mom turned it off and somehow deleted my hard drive. So been trying to think of things to write, I have a few Ideas, and I told him that I would get him something next Monday...above is what I have so far....

Rainbow

The weather has been freaking fantastic lately. Loving it

Shutter Island

Shutter Island marks the 4Th collaboration with Scorsese and DiCaprio. Their 3 previous works where critically praised, I agree.
DiCaprio is a U.S. Marshall, along with his partner played by Ruffalo, in 1954 are sent to a prison for the mentally insane called Shutter Island to investigate an inmate who Mysteriously disappear. Things aren't what they appear to be when they arrive with Ben Kingsley as the less than cooperative chief psychiatrist and administrator.
Now what works here is DiCaprio's acting, he is one of the few actors who is consistently good through out his career, you can almost feel his pain and what he's been trough before coming onto the Island. Another thing its CREEPY. They captured the dark and brutal world of a mental facility just right, I was closing my eyes trough out some parts. Now I will say that for me anyways, I predicted about halfway trough the movie what was really going on, and maybe a lot of people will. So by the time we reach the climax of the movie I wasn't surprised. The idea was cool, and I think it was executed great. Not a lot of people will feel the same way. I think Scorsese/DiCaprio make a wonderful team, and should continue to make more movies.
SEE IT!

Here it is looking better, with a better camera

SUGAR HIGH?!

This One was Taken today.....My son the sand Worshiper

Today was pretty good. My dad drove down from Nogales to see Liam. Ate lunch with him. Then went home and waited for my kid. After he was dropped off we hit the park for him to run around. We all had a blast.

Le Tigre

Tiger woods holding a press conference for the entire world. I feel for his wife who must be so embarrassed by all of this. In this press conference he admitted his affairs and blamed it on FAME. What a bag of douche

Star Trek online first impressions

Still had some money on my Gamestop Gift certificate that I got for Christmas. So Gave this a try. I love Star Trek especially Next generation. I like it so far. Ive made Lieutenant 6Th grade. And so far its been fun. Its a mixture of Space and ground battles. The ground battles need work, it's a new MMO so nothing will be perfect, as its a ongoing evolving world. The space battles is where Star Trek Online truly shines, you go to a solar system, most likely on a mission, within that system you will be given a task to complete, ranging from defeating enemy ships, scanning minerals, or beaming down to a nearby planet, if the mission your on requires more than one player, it will automatically group you up with some. Flying around the star clusters, which is where you are before journeying into a solar system. You will see a variety of ships and levels, all with funny names to them, like my ships is called USS MAN CAVE. There is a earth space station where you go to shop and collect quests. Ive messed around with ship upgrades a bit, customized the way it looks. It's not the perfect MMO but its new and if taken care of it could be epic.

My U.S.S. Man Cave

I upgraded my Internet package from 3MB to 12MB. HOLY SH!!! what a difference, everything is lightning fast now. I can stream movies on Netflix in HD trough my Xbox with no problem, like before it would barely give me a decent picture. I love it.

FLicks

Last night I went to the movies and saw Edge of darkness. Now I don't know about anyone else, I really miss a GOOD Mel Gibson movie, now this isn't going to win any Oscars, it still is a good flick. It's 100 minutes of him getting pissed and bashing peoples heads in.

Percy Jackson was...well okay. It really did remind me of Harry Potter, just with american kids. It doesn't help that this movie was directed by the guy who made the first two Potter films. I went in not really knowing what to expect, I didn't read the books. But it was okay, no where near as epic as the harry potter franchise, the comic relief was too annoying. The Greek mythology was good though. The acting was meh. Maybe they will get better in part2??

Played a couple of hours with friends on MW2. It was fun. That is the only time I will play it JUST WITH FRIENDS. Still a lot of questionable stuff going on in that game.

GET OVER IT

Today i found out just how much My kid's mom is Mean. Not just mean like aw she doesn't like me, No MEAN like EVIL MEAN. I wanted to pick up my kid from his daycare on Friday and bring him home since it is my weekend. Instead she wanted me to take a tour of the place with her...Now Im not up to anything, im not here to throw off they're schedule or anything, I just want to pick my son up see where he spends 8 hours a day. She wasn't having it, going as far as saying that she likes to spend time with him before she bring him over to my place for my weekend. Now I would totally understand that if she didn't see him that much...He lives with her for crying out loud, I mean if she's not seeing my kid enough then something is definitely wrong over at that household.I only see him every other week. I thought this was "Joint Custody" it's not. I was never told my son had been sent to a daycare, I was never told where the daycare was. Hell it took a year to find out where he lived. Now Before I would just give up, and think that being a father I have no rights. Well come to find out I have plenty of rights. All I wanted was ONE Friday to go check out my son's daycare and pick him up. But no she has to pick him up. I have a feeling that Liam's soon to be step dad is being told that he's the "real" father and she doesn't want me to come around and ruin things. Today i found out that I have more rights than I thought, and I will use them. I will no longer sit back and just forget about things because I thought that there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. I did her a favor by switching weekends once, I didn't hesitate one second to do so. Now when I want a favor from her, there is no having it. I'm here for my son, she is still pissed or mad about the past. GET OVER IT. There is a child to think of.

My final Bioshock Review

Now This game is not as good as the first one was. It's just not as fresh. It's just an extension of the first one. The Story ain't nearly as deep or the characters aren't as interesting, the villan of the game feels squished in and really doesn't flesh out. BUT the game does hold it's own. It's still creepy. They added the fact that you can Spew plasmids in one hand and use your weapon in the other. The combat is better, fighting the little sisters does get a little old, they don't appear out of nowhere, they appear when you rescue or harvest a little sister, so there really is isn't no element of surprise. Running around gathering Adam from dead bodies with little sisters is fun the first few times, but it does drag out.The audio files still five a good back story to what happened, and even bringing back some old characters from the first.

The multiplayer is surprisingly good. You have your typical Team Deathmatch, and instead of capture the flag, you got capture the sister, it's pretty cool. They added levels you can reach as well as perks. Now it's not anywhere as fluid as Modern Warfare 2, but it's a small distraction from MW2 when you get tired of it.

I say RENT!

Shitty modern warfare 2

WHY do I still play Modern Warfare 2?? Its a god awful game. The multiplayer is soooo bad in terms of cheating and questionable kills, its not even an ounce of fun anymore. I think I'm pretty much done with it unless they release 10 to 12 patches fixing everything that needs to be fixed..then maybe I will come back. I have a much better time playing the multiplayer in Bioshock 2 than the piece of shit MW2.

End of nerd rant...

Seven Samurai

Having recently watched this again the last night< I wanted to write an updated review on one of the Greatest films ever made.

It is hard to know exactly where to begin when talking about a film of such utter quality. What must be said at the start is that "The Seven Samurai" is flawless. It's characters are brought to life by some of the finest and most committed acting I have ever seen. It is a compelling story of courage, duty, honor, respect and change.

I could echo Roger Ebert's commentary, in which he noted that Kurosawa's film set the standard for the modern action film. It was he notes the first film to assemble a team of hardened men to undertake a mission. But I say read Eberts review if you want to get his take.

I have watched the film several times and what is truly amazing about "The Seven Samurai" is the way in which Kurosawa choses to tell his tale, which is, I think, truly innovative and subtle.

Growing up on action fare as we have "Seven Samurai" should really hold no magic for us. We have the formula (in many forms) before. Countless times. However it is not old to us and magic it carries. I make the case (now anyway) that this comes largely from Kurosawa's knack, his amazing gift, for photographic composition. Most filmmakers today in the action genre have some flare for flashy cinematography. We get sharp angles, dramatic poses (most favorably lighted), and fast cuts. I guess this is to involve us in the high emotion of the situation. But Kurosawa has patience and while I think he gave the blocking of his shots, and their composition a great deal of thought, it comes across as if he did not. His camera moves as though it were simply following the characters through the story. The camera work in "Seven" is so much more subtle and so much more compelling than almost any action fare today. His camera allows, we the viewer, to be, at various times, all of the major characters in the film.

Toshiro Mifune's emotional explosion at his "fellow" Samurai is probably the most obvious example of this. He gets up and at first appears to agree with the Samurai sentiment that killing all of the villagers is a good idea, but when he turns and his anger is directed at them the scene and our place in it change. We are no longer passive viewers watching heated exchange between two factions. The angry Toshiro is yelling at us, looking down at us. For we are looking up at him as his fellow samurai would see him. By the end of his out burst he angrily leaves the room but before he goes he turns slightly to look at us, but we don't see his face, for now we are looking (in one of the great shots of the film) at his feet. The Samurai are ashamed and so are we because we identified with them at first and Kurosawa had the guts to show us that we are wrong to do so.

I could go on, and on about his film, but I leave you with this, watch it.

COURT

Court turned out better than I expected. I thought I was going to get Crucified or thrown in jail. But everyone was cool. The Judge put me at ease by cracking a joke. Amber was cool..I THINK. Everything was finalized. I have until June 1st to find a full time job and pay $418 a month in child support. A bit much, but No complaints I will do whatever I have to, to stay in my sons life.

My stomach was in knots even after the court. My friends took me to grab a drink, which helped.

Netflix

I can't truly express how much Netflix customer service sucks, or more to say their computer system!! We tried to renew our plan with a different credit card, but it wasn't taking the card. I figured there wasn't any money on the card, maybe something wrong on our end. Called the bank, everything was okay. After spending about 45 minutes on the phone with them, they finally tell us it's the systems problem, after being told NO! it's your fault! We finally got the issued fixed and the service reinstated. Good thing it provides us excellent service in getting our movies to us in the mail, just no good customer service

Bioshock 2

Sitting here writing this in between lost commercials. Almost missed it because I was trying to see if I can set up the cable modem in my room. FAILED. Going to have to drill a couple of holes and run wires from the living room to my room. Last time I did that was 2003 when I had Halo LAN parties.

Picked up BIOSHOCK 2. I'm only about 2 hours into story. It feels like I never left the original game, which ain't a bad thing, but I haven't really seen anything new...YET. It's still early in the game. What I'm having a blast with, is the Multiplayer. It ain't no Modern Warfare 2 but it's fun. My favorite mode is Capture the sister. Where a sister is dropped randomly in the map and 2 teams try to get her and run around with her as long as possible. It also has a ranking system and perks..kinda like Call Of Duty LOL

I've really enjoyed my time away from the people i've cut ties with. I guess I was tired of cold, mean DOUCHE BAGS!! I've surrounded myself with better people, sticking to church a little more and staying out of trouble..sort of. I don't wish my former friends ill will, I hope they have a good life. I just laugh and tell my self "I hung out with these a****??" EVEN on twitter people are such downers, nothing but complaining and bitching, almost want to give it up!!

Random post #3456

Been hanging out with the gf allot lately. Catching up on shows and new ones. Like Fringe, I skipped it at first because it looked like an X-files rip off. But sitting down and watching it, I really got into it. Plus it looks great on Blu-ray.
They added allot of new stuff to stream off my Xbox on Netflix. The only thing is that my internet aint as strong as I want it to be, so the movie will rebuff to meet the slower connection and the video will be crappy.

Modern Family is the funniest program on televison right now. And I'm glad they show 2 episodes on Wednesday. I'm going to wait for season 8 of 24 to be released on Blu-ray so I don't have to deal with commercials!!

Ok, done with my pointless rant. Long day tomorrow! Night

LOST: The Final SEASON

Ive been waiting for this premiere for a YEAR. And finally it comes. The 6th and final season of one of my favorite and most frustrating shows out there. It's like cock teasing, they rub you the right way with awesomeness then don't explain anything, and leave you high and dry..plus confused. I watched the last 3 episodes of season 5 as a refresher. The hour recap was pretty good to. But you can't fit Lost's confusing story in 1 hour.

The 2 hour premiere started. Twitter was blowing up with posts and spoilers, so I was trying to dodge those. The show WAS AWESOME! To explain it all would just confuse everyone and myself. But Locke turned out to be that Smoke-Monster that showed up in the first episode. BUT Locke ain't Locke....GAH It's crazy and I can't wait to see what they bring in the weeks ahead. May 23rd will be the series finally...I WILL BE THERE

Defraging

Defraging my computer, its been running slow lately. According to my virus protector thing, a virus aint it. Defragging is going to take about 5 hours. Hopefully it will make it run a little faster. I might need to upgrade this thing...or look into a new one.

Day was pretty chill. Went to church. Hooked up my moms new stove. Had to rewire it so it would fit in the electrical socket.

Played some more Mass Effect 2 and Modern Warfare 2 with friends that was fun. Always fun kicking someones ass in the game after they talk shit to you.

Brother came in a couple of hours ago from Texas, he's staying at a hotel. Meeting up with him for breakfast after I drop my sister off from school.
