Diet attemp #243

started my diet again.. LOL I've been keeping at it for a few days now. I go for a walk around my neighborhood for about an hour, and been mostly keeping to fruits and smaller portion meals. One thing I've noticed right away is that I feel a lot better! I would stuff my face then feel bloated for the rest of the day, and uncomfortable.

Radical EXTREMIST

I rarely talk about politics anywhere. I consider myself neutral. I don't agree with things that are going on with my country..YET I still love it here.

I have a friend..more like an acquaintance who left America to move to Bangkok. Because he didn't like how things where being runed here. That's cool you know, if you don't like it here go somewhere else. BUT don't bash on America and expect people to sit back and take it. That was the case tonight. I occasionally talk on the phone with him or play on Xbox live. But somehow politics came into our conversation we where having. I think I might of poked fun on the recent riots his area had a few months back. He went on and on about how AWFUL America is and how it's going to hell yada yada...he even went as far as saying there will be a Civil War VERY soon.

As soon as I started defending my country, it sort of escalated. And again I would defend it, and it got to the point to where he just shut up. Mentioning that only people who believe America will implode, is the ONLY people who he could talk to and rely on. It was an awkward couple of games of Call of Duty 4. And I'm pissed that I wasted several hours talking to him about it. The type of person who thinks he's so much better than an American. It was just WEIRD. After all that I'm going to distance myself from him..because I know that when we talk, it will eventually turn into an extremist crazed rant.

America has been good to me, and hasn't screwed me over...YET No country is perfect...if you don;t like it GET THE F(&^% OUT.

Gaming update

Got me the Xbox 360 Slim with a gift card and some trade ins. It defiantly looks a lot sleeker and a little smaller. One thing I've noticed is how quiet it is. The only thing is that its prone to smudges. All in all I'm really liking it. The fact that it come built in with Wi-Fi and an optical slot, all of which are not included in the previous version of the 360. Saving well over $100.

I rented Transformers: War for Cybertron. Played one mission too soon to judge. BUT the multiplater is where I am having a blast at. While no Call of Duty its still addicting. Making you want to get to the next level to unlock stuff.

I also rented Mafia II. So far I've done 3 chapters, and I can say I really dig this game. The story Is what this games all about. REALLY good.

In other news I'm letting my World of Warcraft account finish in a week or so. Not renewing it till the expansion comes out.

Blah!

Forgot I had this lol.

Had my kid this past weekend. As much as I love him dearly. He's definitely in that terrible two's stage, and he can be overwhelming sometimes. BUT at the end of the day he's just the sweetest guy, and when he tells me he loves me it washes all the frustration away.

In the process of starting a webcomic. It's hard if you don't know where to look. I started to do it on Blogger..but it didn't feel right. So I found ComicFury. A site designated to host webcomics. It's simple, it's free and the community is in the same interest as I am. Hope to be putting stuff up soon!

The main reason of not really getting any work done, is video games. I finished StarCraft II it was pretty epic! My friends convinced me to return to wow, and I did. It was fun for a little while..but I find myself in the same spot...BORING! So I'll be stopping that until the expansion comes out. So all in all taking another break from gaming. Focusing more on my health more than anything. Start to eat better, go for a walk or jog. I need to run at the track at the local high school, because they use padding. I can't run on cement at the weigh I'm at because I'll bust my knees!

I'll start to track my progress as I go.

Heres the site I put up an intro of sorts for the Webcomic CHECK IT! HERE

Getting My A**! handed to me

The multiplayer is kicking my ASS! Especially on the 1 vs 1!

I was placed in the lowest of the lows. Pretty much with the other people who suck at the SC II MP. LOL

Weekend Roundup

I know its Wednesday morning. But I forgot to do my weekend roundup on Sunday night.

Friday I helped my sister move from her apartment to her new house. It's across the street from a HUGE mall that has everything. It's  a nice gated community.  I went home and my Dad and kid where there waiting for me. We all went to have dinner at our local Chinese joint. It was delicious as usual. We went to the local park in our neighborhood and Liam ran around and played the playground for a good 45 minutes. The rest of the night we just chilled at the house.

Liam at Dinner

Saturday spent a chunk of the day at the house with Liam. My mom was out helping my sister do stuff. Liam and I watched so cartoons. We tried to go out but it was so damn HOT! I napped with Liam till about 5ish. Was trying to figure out what i wanted to do for the night. We went over to my sisters apartment, so i could take Liam swimming and my mom could help my sis finish cleaning the apartment. I hadn't really gone swimming with Liam. Maybe once when he was almost a year old. It was a lot of fun. I got him a floaty thing that he wears, and it did it's job kind of. I made sure I held him the entire time. At one point it rained, only for about 5 minutes or so, it was soooo nice! My sisters made some oven pizza. Then we moved some more smaller things over to her new place.

Ready to SWIM!
Sunday took Liam to the park for like 3 hours. We came home and he passed out right away. We went to applebee's for some unlimited soup and salad, Liam had the macaroni
.
Passed out...PINK COVERS!
I say it was a pretty solid weekend.

StarCraft II has consumed me these past few days. The story is getting REALLY good, and the multiplayer is too much fun.

Forest Whitaker from Battlefield Earth??

PC

Finally picked up my full copy of StarCraft II. This game has so many things to do..its crazy! Played a few matches online. I still have a lot to learn. I also hooked it up to my HDTV and it looks fantastic! All I really need is a better graphics card with double the ram and I should be good to go.

They finally have Star Gate Atlantis on Netflix st reaming. Been meaning to watch it for the longest time.

That's about it.

Some more StarCraft II

Played some multiplayer for the first time on StarCraft II. Didn't really know what to expect. They give you the option to do 50 practice round against the computer or actual players. This gets you use to jist of the game and sets you against new players, so the game battle is fair. The first battle was against a player named DAN. I told him to take it easy on me, he told me he sucks at this game. I was able to drop a nuke (pictured bellow) roughly 10 minutes into the match. It took out a wide area of his structures, and the match was looking to go my way.

Nuking some noob
20 something minutes later he was crashing trough my base with a shit load of Mechs, battle cruisers, riflemen, and heavy armor mercenaries. He ended me. I figured out the problem. I wasn't utilizing all the resources that I had. The second battle I tried something different focusing on gathering minerals and resources first, the focusing on building structures and manpower. It worked and I was able to construct a huge army and take out the other player's base, with little resistance. The third and final round I applied the same tactic with the same results. I'm loving this damn game!

Benihana's

soooo gooood!
It was my Nieces 16th birthday yesterday. So we surprised her with a birthday dinner at Benihana's, an upscale Japanese restaurant, where they cook the food in front of you. I have to say that this was the best food I've had in a looong time! The cook was funny, and the environment was fun. After we where stuffed, the cake was brought out, the employees sang happy birthday in English and Japanese Also sat next to a cool couple who bought us a couple of rounds of California rolls.

Mad Men

Man...what can I say about this show that hasn't been said already? Besides "Lost" I can't say that a show has kept me glued to the TV like Mad Men. Every single episode up to date, has been so intriguing. KEEP IT UP!

Random StarCraft II

Finally figured out how to take an in game picture.

The Terminator...of BP

This cracked me up

Star Craft II first impressions

I got a computer that isn't necessarily made to handle gaming. I mean I have a decent graphics card that's outdated. It can handle World of Warcraft with no problems and older games. But when it comes to newer games it tends to fall short. So that's why I didn't run out and pick up StarCraft II. I knew it was meant for beefed up computers. I heard that the game came with a guest pass, that allowed a friend to download the full game and play for 7 in game hours. Luckily i had a friend who got the special edition and got like 3 guest passes so he gave me one.

After about a 4 hour download and a 15 minute install i fired up the game. I was surprised on how well it handled the game. I didn't really have any issues playing the campaign. But I'm really liking it so far. It has a lot of variety in each missions, and the in between stuff you can do, like go around the ship interact with people, upgrade your units. I also like how a little bit into the game you can chose how to branch out on the missions. I haven't even tried the online portion yet. Seriously thinking of getting this game.

Weekend roundup

sitting here watching a re-run of NCIS. As much as i try to ignore the the line that's going up and down the left side of my HDTV, it still very distracting! I need to take it in to get looked at. I will be without a TV for who knows how long :( But I'm just delaying the inevitable.

I wanted to re-cap my weekend on Sunday but forgot. As I usually forget that I have a blog, and even though nobody reads this, I still like posting, you know for myself.

Friday I spent a couple of hours cleaning my room, because my kid was coming over for the weekend. It was TRASHED! My dad drove down to see his grandson. We went to the park for a bit, trying to keep up with Liam, as he ran around the park. Another reason why I'm trying to loose weight. Getting tired of feeling so exhausted when I do the littlest activities. Liam mentioned that he wanted Ice cream, so we took him to McDonald's so he could play in the kid"s area. My dad had planned to stay the night, but was called away for work. Liam and I spent the rest of the night watching Netflix on the Wii, switching between Dora and Diego.

Saturday did the usual made breakfast for my kid. Watched some more kids show on Netflix. Went out with my mom and Liam, to yard sales and a few goodwill stores. I was mainly looking for an office chair so I stop using a regular kitchen one. I found one for $10 and it was half off :-D On the way out, I walked over to the small electronic glass display they had, and saw that they had a wireless keyboard/mouse combo for only $9.99 I saw a a box that had artwork I recognized. it was The Lord of the Rings trilogy for $5 all books in excellent condition. I never really do any of those things, bargain hunting. But I won't rag on it anymore, you can find tons of stuff for dirt cheap. At night we drove out of Chandler to go to a Sonic, just to go out for a drive, We all got ice cream including Liam.

Sup?

Sunday the entire family went to church. I don't take my kid when I have him, since he usually can't stay still and won't let me listen to the day's sermon. I returned my kid to his mom. I went to the market to get snacks for the Mad Men premiere gathering I was having. Needless to say the episode was great, and can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for us.

Not a bad weekend. I'm still nervous about shutting down my computer, after the crash it had about 2 weeks ago. But so far it's going good. I've only installed up to SP3 and there are more updates this computer should have. But those updates "SEEM" to be causing the crash. So It will stay like this for a while, until I can get it looked at or BUY a new one.

I'm temped to buy StarCraft II but I know for a fact that my puny graphics card wont be able to handle it :( ALSO! I know that my processor is a bit behind of its times. So I got to do research on what I need to do. Buy new or Upgrade the old one....hmmmmm

Bargain!

Wet to goodwill with the fam it was actually allot of fun. Found me a nice keboard and mouse combo. Also found The Lord of the rings trilogy for 8 dollars! It was fun bargain shopping! And of course had a blast with my kid :)

Inception Theory List

Here's Some theories i found online. Definitely need to give this movie another go. Source

Theory 1 – The top (Dom’s current totem) is wobbling and will eventually stop. Dom has returned to reality.

Theory 2 – Dom received a kick from Saito in limbo, but it did not work and Dom has gone deeper into limbo by being killed within a dream under sedation. Dom remains in Limbo.

Theory 3 – The entire movie is simply Dom’s dream wrestling with his fatherhood and mortality, and he simply woke up on the plane after a regular business trip. Plain and simple.

Theory 4 – The entire movie is Dom’s dream and part of Dom and Mal’s research. Mal was right that they were not yet in reality and has been attempting to extract Dom through inception.

Theory 5 – The entire movie is in Dom’s dream, but the idea is the result of Inception on Dom by his father or some other corporation.

  1. How did Dom’s kids know how to reach him at a hotel halfway across the world if their Grandma did not want them to speak to him?
  2. Where is Grandma at the end of the movie?
  3. The children have the same clothes on throughout the movie, including the ending.
  4. When Dom wakes up on the plane, he is not hooked to any device.
  5. No one on the plane speaks to him after he wakes up, except Miles who says “Welcome Back”.
  6. Dom has a wedding band on in “reality” throughout the movie, but on during the “dream” sequences.
  7. The totem is actually Mal’s, not Dom’s. What is Dom’s totem?
  8. No one should know or touch someone else’s totem. However, multiple people know and touch Dom’s.
  9. Why are the so many agents of the corporation in Mumbasa, wearing the same type of outfits that are worn by security projections in Fischers’ dream?
  10. Mal continuously runs her finger across a knife but does not bleed.
  11. Why did Dom not wait for the totem to stop spinning? Was it because his children turned around?
  12. The children never age throughout the film. If Dom had time to start a business and speak with his children multiple times, send them gifts, and tell them he would come home eventually, why would they look the same at the end of the movie?
  13. How can one call solve major immigration issues with one phone call?
  14. Did Dom and Saito simply come out from under sedation on the plane?
  15. Who was out there militarizing important people’s subconscious? Was extraction a growth industry? Who else knew how to execute the process?
  16. I suspect the selected music for extraction has a meaning, but that is likely DVD Commentary material.
  17. Is it safe to assume Grandma is Mal’s mom?
  18. Where are the kicks coming out of limbo for Dom and Saito through the 5 different levels?
  19. How did Dom get to the shores where Saito’s men found him?
  20. What does Dom’s dad mean when he says “Come back to reality”?

Inception Theories

Been reading up on Inception, and I'm pretty amazed on how much theories there are up on the net. I was reading a whole bunch of them. NOW I have to see the movie again..some of the theories made a lot sense..Oh Nolan you smart BASTARD!

Hangage

Hit up some Pacific Seafood buffet with Jorge and his cousins. It was crowded. The waitress we got was horrible! At one point we had to ask a second waitress to get us our drinks. She stood right by us to make sure we left here a tip. We didn't leave her much of a tip.

Last night it was Ruben's Birthday. Jorge came and picked me up around 9PM. Kind of late. We went to Texas Road House, 20 minutes before they closed. We hung out there for a few. Ruben his GF and their two friends ordered food to go. Jorge paid for the bill (Ruben's B-day present) we went to Jorge's house. We kicked it for a bit, had a few drinks, watched Boondocks Saints II.

Not a bad weekend/Night

Inception

So I've been hearing nothing but good things about this movie, and I didn't want to over-hype myself. While I will admit it did start out slow, it builds into one of the most complex and stunning movies I've seen in a loooong time, and the ending was PERFECT. I will most definitely be seeing this movie again. I Just wish there wasn't a DOUCHE bag sleeping and SNORING on the seat behind me...so annoying!

I was talking to my friends about Dicaprio ALWAYS making a sad or depressing movie, he needs to make a comedy next. Like he should of been in Hot Tub Time Machine! But seriously he needs to be in something lighter, enough of this DRAMA BULL! :)

A Horrible Loss

Just learned today that one of my friends 3 year old died. Jayden was his name. His mom was studying, and he got out of the house. After searching for him, cops where called, after looking everywhere, Jayden's moms car was checked, and his body was found inside. It looks like he locked himself inside the car, and the heat killed him.

Immediately thought of my kid, he's almost the Jayden's age. I could only imagine what its like to lose a kid.

It's a MIRACLE

Don't know where i got the idea from. But having given up on my computer for good. I decided to just unplugged everything (RAM, Hard Drive etc.) and just plug them all back in. Well i guess that did the trick. Because my computer works perfectly fine, if not better than before. I'm guessing that there was a loose wire or cable..NO CLUE, I'll take it. But it's really good to have a working computer again :)

Also..OMG Dragon Age 2! LOVED the first one, and from what I can see, they've made vast improvements from the part 1. BIOWARE never fails at RPG.

Refrigerator of the FUTURE

Mom and got a new Refrigerator..Our last one was from the early 90's. The new one is so..futuristic. It has green LED lights around the Water and Ice dispenser..kind of creeping me out HA.

Season 2 of Veronica Mars is turning out to be just as good as the first. The way they structure it, and all the mysteries they throw at you.

Aaaaah what a great night with my kid. Went to Peter Piper Pizza and had a blast. Liam Shot some hoops and won some tickets. He spent them on a lollipop :) He's growing so fast!

Getting old

Did about 3 hours of yard work yesterday. I woke up with my back sore. I had some problems with the lawnmower..took about 45 minutes of bending down and pulling the cord to start it up. I guess I'm getting old :( But at least the front and back yard looks great.

Been on a Hugh Grant kick recently. Getting some of his movies thought Netflix Blu-ray. Me and the family enjoy his flicks.

Started watching Veronica Mars on Netflix streaming, its pretty good. Although I last I think only 3 seasons. One of those that everybody agrees was cancelled too soon.

ERROR ERROR

Haven't blogged in a while. My computer just stopped recognizing windows when I went to turn it on almost a week ago. I borrowed a Windows XP cd from a friend. After having to format my Hard Drive, windows was installed. Unfortunately this is a custom made computer, so drivers are very hard to find for example. Graphics card. As soon as I start to install updates, usually Service Pack 2, it tells me that Windows has encountered a critical error and shuts down. It pretty much stops loading Windows again...after several attempts I gave up.

So I've been relying on my moms computer and my Blackberry. It will be a while before I get my computer fixed or save up for a new one. (Cry)

Another job??

Got a job interview later today. It kind of happened fast. I went in yesterday. Applied on the computer they had at the office, and I was given a preliminary interview right there. So if that goes well, ill be getting paid more than what I'm getting now. Pretty much packaging..things not sure what just yet. But the hours will be 6 AM to 3PM...OUCH!

Homies

Got an unexpected call from my friend Gadberry, he's been so busy with moving into his house and busy with work, that we haven't had a chance to kick it.
Went and grabbed some beers, played some pool, drank some more and talked. Sounded like he needed a night like that. Recounted old stories from the days of working at AMC in our teens...good times.

Came home and my friend from Bangkok called. Its always nice catching up with him..talked for over an hour...about random things..lol

T-Mobile is cool..for now

So I called T-Mobile to check on the status of my refund check. They said it was mailed out Thursday, should be here any day. I was so mad at them and their horrible customer service that I threatened to cancel my line. They came back with knocking $10 off my data plan...Not a bad thing..I might stay with them.

Water Park

Fantastic weekend. Had my kid. Friday it was my moms turn to host the prayer meeting at her house. Since Liam doesn't stay still for very long. I took him for a walk around the neighborhood. It was nice.

Saturday we went to a water park in Tempe. It was a small one with mostly water shooting from the ground, we all had a lot of fun. grabbed some Domino's on the way home. It was the first time I've had Pizza from there in 8 years. They've definitely improved their food since then.

Sunday was spent indoors, because it was so damn hot outside. Liam and I went out to play. But his face would turn red. So I played with him in the house. Watched some kids shows on Netflix streaming. Mom made tacos for all of us, it was freaking fantastic!

Later I dropped Liam off with his mom. came home and took a nap, I was beat from trying to keep up with my kid. I went out with friends for sushi, then the usual hangout spot Iguana Mack's.

Awesome weekend.

Final Fantasy VII

I was aimlessly browsing youtube, when a song from Nobuo Uematsu's Gold Saucer came trought my head. So I looked it up and sure enough, there where tons of videos on it. So nostalgia kicked in, and all these memories began to flood in from the summer of 1997.

I was given a Playstation on my birthday December 1996, and the games I played on it where good. But nothing that was memorable. The most memorable games where still fresh from the Nintendo 64, like Starfox 64. I use to rent my PS games at our local video rental store Power Video. I would rent game after game, that I would usually never finish. Around September I new game appeared on the rental wall called Final Fantasy 7. I've read a little bit on it and all i knew about it, was that it was delayed over a year. So I rented it. Had a friend of mine who would spend weeks on end over at our house during the summer. (still friends to this day) He was there with me. We got home, I opened the case to the game. 3 CD-Roms?!?! GEEZ! Was our first expressions.

When we fired up there Playstation, and the opening music started, plus the opening FMV movie came on, we where blown away. We where instantly hooked. I was new to RPG, and had to get use to it. There was so much story and so much DEPTH, that it took use a whole year to beat it. I'm not kidding. Summer of 1997 to Summer of 1998. Mostly because we would get stuck on a certain part, try to pass it but ultimately fail. Set the game aside for a month or so. This was back in the days where I didn't know there was Strategy guides out there for games. I was at a Barnes& Nobles one day. I stumbled onto a a very small section labeled "Strategy Guides" And sure enough there was a thick book for FFVII. After purchasing that guide, we where able to pass any obstacles. We where able to make it to the very end, and once we beat the tough boss, I still remembered high fiving my friend. It felt like a huge accomplishment, like we did something major in our lives. Did we stop playing the game? Hell no.

The game could be played any way you wanted, from the way you answer other people, plus the plethora of side quests and optional characters to recruit. I can't even recall how many times I've played the game, I can assume over a dozen times, from start to finish. I even figured out a way to connect my Playstation to my VCR, and record my playtrough. It took 3 VHS tapes on Extended play. Yeah I was a major nerd.

I can't express how much FFVII impacted my life. How addicted I was to this game. or how many hours and sleepless nights where spent getting to the next area, or to the next plot point. I was so enthralled by every aspect. I can safely say that this is my favorite game of all time. Sure i have other favorite games. But nothing thats affected me so much. On a side not, I rented that game so much, I think I spent about double the amount of what the game was worth. Until I finally bought the game, for a whopping $49.99. Shit loads of money back then.

I even spent $60 dollars on the Official Soundtrack. It was 4 discs and it had every single music on it. I loved it!

They did release the game on the PSN pn the PS3. I wish they would of updated the graphics and made it HD. But I hear they are possibly planning a remake. I hope so.

July 22

My surgery is scheduled for July 22. Yeeeeeeey! not really excited about it.

The iPhone 4 looks awesome! Except almost everybody is having reception problems when they hold the device, blocking the antennas. I was interested in getting one! But now not so much.

Giving Doctor Who another go, I tried watching it a year ago. But didn't get into it. It's pretty good. Definitely out there.

T-Moile use to be awesome

So I got a refund coming to me. I returned a phone to T mobile. But since they can't give you cash back if its over $150. They have to send it to you as a check in the mail. Okay fine, I was told 5-10 days. 2 weeks passed. I gave the store a call to find out what was going on. Turns out the refund was never faxed to corporate to have the refund processed. So it sat there at the store for 2 weeks...after calling and bitching, they fast tracked the refund. SHOULD be getting it in a few days.

Finished season 3 of Mad Men. What a great season. I didn't want it to end. Can't wait for the new season to start up again in July.

Surgery it is

Saw my Ear Doctor a bit ago. My only option is surgery. What I have behind my ear is dead skin, that's been slowly growing over the years, causing an infection that's eating away at the bone that bounces the sound off to my eardrum. They will be making an incision behind my ear and going trough the ear. It's an outpatient procedure so it's done in about 2 hours. I can't do anything 24 hours after. And in about 2 days I should be back to normal. They will be putting medical gel in my ear, and will stay in there for a month or so, slowly draining. Also my hearing will be reduced as my ear heals. It will slowly come back and could take up to two months.

Now the Doctor Isn't 100% percent sure if the surgery will help improve my hearing in that ear. BUT at least the infection will be cleaned out. THEN they will deal with the hearing.

Kind of nerve racking. But I was expecting this. At least it's not major surgery!

I should be getting a call to have the procedure st up in the next couple of days.

Sweet 16 Pre-production

We officially booked the reception hall for my sister's sweet 16. They only required a down payment and the rest will be billed to us every month until its paid off. It looks like it will be a fun gathering. Already got almost 100 confirmed guests, and it doesn't even take place until October 31st.

Since I will be walking my sister at the ceremony, I will be wearing a tux. So I promised her that I will lose some weight for the event. I NEED TO!! That way I'll look good for all the pictures they'll be taking.

I go see the ear specialist tomorrow. I guess he will take a better look at the entire situation and tell me what the next step is. I know surgery is in the foreseeable future, so I have to make sure I ask questions!

My HDTV started displaying a black line from top to bottom on the left hand side of the screen, its hard to notice. But does stand out when there's a white scene. It only happens when I'm using the blu-ray Player playing regular DVD's and streaming Netflix. I haven't tried playing a Blu-Ray movie. I'm going to call technical support in the morning.

Father's Day

Got Liam at 9 AM. We all got ready for church. After church we where debating to stay at church to eat, since they where having a Father's Day lunch. We decided to head home. Mom cooked some awesome ribs. My kid is my napping partner. We took a 2 hour nap :) After I dusted off the old pool and swam with my kid. Sure there wasn't enough room for the both of us...BUT my kid had a blast!

Had a pretty rad Father's Day.

Toy Story

I saw Toy Story 3 TWICE since it came out, and all I can is wow...is there nothing Pixar can do wrong?

I still remember watching Toy Story back in 1995. My two older brothers took me to see it, I was 12 going on 13 and that's something I'll never forget. Toy Story 2 came out November 1999, and I was working at a movie theater when it came out. I was 16 going on 17, and all I can remember is watching it with all my friends and laughing my ass off. Almost 11 years later Toy Story 3 came out. It was a no brainer that I was going to see this, I'm 27 now with a 2 and a half year old kid. I went to see it the the night it came out, and there where no kids there whatsoever, there where nothing but people my age, people who grew up with these movies.

By the end of the film I was left in tears, and didn't realize how much I came to know and love these characters very much. I am fortunate and grateful to have grown with these movies, and knowing my son will enjoy it as well because they are timeless.

Ear stuff #34234

Went to the Doctor's this morning. My doctor hadn't looked at the CAT scans...GEZZ! But the initial report is that I do have some sort of build up behind my right ear. It's not tumor or anything so that was a relief. So he will be looking at the CAT scan more in depth, they will call me to set up an appointment.

I was given a hearing test, the first one in over a decade. They hooked up these earphones to my ears, put me in all sorts of conditions, from wind blowing in one ear while they make noises in the other. The results? My left ear is perfectly normal, as for my right...my doctor told me it was terrible...So they are assuming it's from the build up from behind the ear, and hope to bring my hearing in the right ear to a normal level, which will require surgery. So I see a Doctor that deals with JUST the ear next Tuesday, and we will go from there.

OKAY THEN!

weeeeeeeeeee

My phone is being delivered tomorrow!!

Phone drama!

I dropped my Blackberry in liquid a few days back. I was devastated for a day or two. The kind people at T-Mobile offered to send me a new one. Should be here today or tomorrow, CANT WAIT!

My buddy talked me into trying a 10 day free trial of Warhammer online. I played for a bit, and it reminded me a lot of Lord of the Rings Online. Sadly my computer is a bit outdated and has a bit of trouble running the game. Yet..it runs WOW with no probs...weird.

So the Xbox 360 Slim was announced today, and will be hitting stores this week. Might be picking one up in the very near future, from what I've seen it looks very sexy.

Lots of stuff was announced at E3. Later this year is going to be crazy! Way to many games coming out..must get 5 jobs to afford all of it!

Started Mad Men season 3 on Blu-Ray. That show is awesome. I'm going to wait for Breaking Bad season 3 to come out on Blu-Ray as well.

GYS

Back in 2002 A couple of my friends started up a web comic. I contributed to stories and such for a period of time. They called it Graveyard Shift after our friend Jack, who use to work the Graveyard Shift at a gas station. We would always go visit him. It was fun times. My favorite one (pictured above) is one of my favorites. Check it out! GYS

The Creators of GYS went on to bigger and better things with their kick ass webcomic The Konamis!

Netflix plays nice

Usually I don't like dealing with netflix customer service. But I somehow messed up the order of Mad Men Season 3 in my que. So they where going to send me disc 2 first instead of disc 1.

So I called them to see if it was too late to make changes. They said no and offered to send me disc 1 for free. Since I only have the 1 out at a time plan. So I will have both discs...AWESOME. Usually they kind of suck at customer service. So I was surprise how quick and courteous they where.

SCAN me

So my appointment was at 8:15 this morning. I dropped my sister off at school, and made my way to the doctors. I was almost there when I got a phone call. It was the Docs office telling me that the technician doing that CAT scans, had called in sick. So I was scheduled to 2PM.

Ran some errands for my mom. Went to Target to pick up Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Since it was the cheapest place to buy the book than anywhere else by 10 bucks.
Got to the doctors office out in Ahwatukie. After getting lost for a bit I, I found the place. I thought I was going to be stuffed into one of those cramped tubes for 45 minutes, while I got scanned. But it was actually just a table you lay on, you rest you head on a pad, and a small circular ring scans you..its futuristic and shit. Crazy. Took maybe 20 minutes. I guess I find out what's up with my ear area when I go see the Doc next week.

Short #254

Worked some more on the fence for the front yard of the house. Finishing up tomorrow night. Best time to work is at night!

Tonight was awesome. Chilled with friends.

Pretty cool day.

Negative Peeps

So I've been taking people off my friends list on Facebook. Mostly because they're sooo negative about everything. Most of their post or comments are EMO.

There's this guy who I couldn't stand back when I use to work with him. He was the poster child of what drugs will do to you're brain. I kid you not. So I never really was his friend. He asked to be my friend on Facebook. Why not? I'm sure he's changed, maybe not so annoying as he was in the past. I was very wrong. Almost every post I would put up on my wall, he would comment on, and it was something that never made any sense. So I would normally delete his comments. He started doing a lot of that to other people. Making no sense whatsoever, and mainly just annoying everyone. So I deleted him.

I get a message a few hours later. Asking me what he did wrong, and pretty much took it really hard. He was so devastated that I took him off my friend list. I responded by telling him he shouldn't make a huge deal out of it. Taking him off my friends list doesn't mean I hate your guts. And told him not to write me about any facebook drama anymore. That was the last I heard of him. When I go to my friends page, I still see him doing the same things he was doing, and I just crack up. Feel sorry for the guy.

painting SUCKS!

Yesterday I painted my mom's fence we built. I took me 3 hours and did it under the scorching sun...it sucked LOL. But we got a lot done.

Our churches weekly prayer meeting was held at my mom's house as well.

After I went and saw Get him to the greek. It was funny and surprisingly serious.

Not a bad day.

Yard Work

I did a lot of yard work today. From cutting the grass to building and fixing the fence in the front yard. My mom is having the churches prayer meeting tomorrow night. The meeting is always held at someone's house every week. I still have to do some more tomorrow....geeeez! :)

Week 1 of no Xbox

So I glanced at the date and realized its been a whole week since I started my 1 month Xbox cleansing routine. Its kind of a test I'm giving to myself to see if I can make it a whole month without touching my Xbox.

Do I miss it? Not really. Firing up my Xbox became so routine everyday, that it became second nature. I tried to limit how much I played on it everyday. But that didn't do any good. After playing Red Dead Redemption. One of the best games I've ever played. I went over and read the stats on the game, and it said I played 30+ hours of the game. I told myself this would be a good time to take a break from gaming.

I will admit, that the first couple of days I felt like something was missing, and I was having some sort of withdrawals. But I had picked up the new Blackberry 9700 a couple of days before, so that keep my mind of it. I still stream Netflix but through my Blu-Ray player. And I will say that the video player isn't as good as the Xbox's. BUT it works.

In roughly 24 days. I will fire up the xbox again, or maybe not even have the urge to. Eventually setting a reasonable amount of time for gaming everyday. There are games that came out that I want to try. So we'll see what happens!

More ear crap

I had a doctor's appointment this morning. I was to go in to get a hearing test. Dr. Sha checked my left ear and told me it looked fantastic.. As for my right one, it looked clogged. He doesn't know why I keep getting drainage from that ear, since there isn't a sign of any infection. So he went in and tried to suck the discharge out. He stopped when he noticed that I started bleeding. He mentioned that the infection might actually be behind the ear in the bone area.

So he prescribed me some drops, to clean out my ear of any infection, and scheduled a CAT scan to see where the infection is. He mentioned that I might have to have surgery to clear the infection. I go back in 2 weeks to see what happens. CRAZZY stuff.

Thought I was going to DIE!

When I got home from Iguana Mack's last night. I started to feel a little sick in the stomach. I figured a few beers combined with bar food ain't always a good mix. But I've done it several times before, and came out relatively unharmed. I went to bed, and started to have minor stomach pains. No big deal, I figured I'd sleep it off.

3:30 AM. I wake up in such pain that I couldn't lay down without it hurting even more. I tried to go back to sleep, only to be woken up by the pain.

I made my way to the toilet. I sat on the floor of the toilet, to see if I would throw up. The pain got worse and worse. It pretty much became unbearable. So the first time in my life, I made myself throw up. It was pretty disgusting, it took several attempts, and I was finally able to make myself hurl. I started to feel a little better. The stuff I threw up was from eating chipotle earlier that day. The steak was waaay under cooked, and sometimes under cooked meat messes with my stomach. it will be a long time until I pay Chipotle a visit.

The pain continued but was nowhere compared to what it was a couple of hours before. Once I got home the pain slowly started going away. I have no pain right now. But I do feel a little nauseous. Taking it easy, firing up the Netflix on my blu-ray player. Avoiding my Xbox 360.

I've gotten food poisoning many times before. But nothing as severe and painful as this experience. I never want to go trough it again!

Movie Day

So I was suppose to meet some friends the Aquarium this morning. I guess there was some mix up and I guess they meant the Aquarium 45 minutes from my house instead of the one 10 minutes away. So I decided to go to the movies with some other friends.

First one was MacGruber. It wasn't really that funny. It reminded me of the humor in Freddy got fingered. The comedy felt forced. I can see why It bombed at the box office.

Snuck into Shrek 4. This one was funny. Now not as good as the first two. But better than the third. Was it a strong ending to the series? No it was kind of half assed.

Next was Prince of Persia. I wasn't really expecting much. But it was actually better than what I thought it would be. That being said. It's definitely not going to be a summer blockbuster.

Short #2564

Great and frustrating day with my kid.

Took a nap with Liam for almost 3 hours..it was refreshing.

Went to Iguana Mack's with some friends. Now I'm watching X-Files seaon 5. The best season in the series IMO.

That is all. Great weekend!

Another crazy day

Another busy day.

Had menudo with the family around 8 AM. Then hung out with my dad before he left around 11. Worked some more on the window. Almost done!

at 3 took Liam to our local public pool to swim, it was fun. Except standing out in the sun for a few hours drains your. I was soo tired afterwards. I think I took a power nap while my mom watched Liam.

We all went to a friends Birthday party, it was ok, kind of only went because it was my moms good friend. They did have a margarita machine wich made things better.

Came home and spent about an hour and a half looking at News bloopers on youtube....yeah I have no clue.

NIGHT!

Who's going to be the third!?

So Gary Coleman died yesterday, and today Dennis Hopper. Now Coleman was a child actor and never really achieved fame, he still was well known. Hopper was a legend to most people.

Celebrity deaths always comes in threes...who's going to be the third!? Let's hope NOBODY!

Crackberry part 2

Had a chance to fully test the Blackberry Bold 9700. I unplugged it from the charger around 5 AM yesterday morning. I used this phone heavily trough out the day. From phone calls to tons of text messages and taking a lot of photos, while running Twitter and Facebook, doing some browsing on the web. All this running on 3G.

At one point I used the GPS navigation to get to a location, while it didn't have voice directions, it worked perfect, following my car, even telling me how fast my car was going.

The battery is finally about to die...19 hours later! Holy cow this has to be one of the longest lasting battery's in the market. I considered the iPhone to be the best phone ever. But this blows it out of the water.

Great day

Today was pretty busy. Started out by putting a new huge window on the side of the house. 6inishing it up tomorrow. Then doing a bunch of clean up for it.

Helped my mom out with the day care since she's been having some pain in her kidney. had my kid there to.

My Dad is visiting for a couple of days so he can see Liam.

Went and picked my sister up 30 minutes away from my house out in BFE. She was at a basketball tournament.

Crazy but fun day. Me and my dad went out earlier and got stuff to make menudo, its cooking now and will be ready in the morning!

Window part 2

We are getting there. More improvising than anything. But I think it looks pretty good so far.

Window

Putting another window on the house...my mom is crazy!

Crackberry

My contract ended earlier today. I had a Blackberry Curve. It was ok but the internet sucked on it, and it was very slow. So I decided to get me a new one.

Got the BB Bold 9700 and I'm liking it so far. I can listen to pandora while sending out texts or Tweeting. The battery life is ridiculously long. I've had in on 3G all day and its still going strong. Also the camera is pretty good, haven't messed around with the video camera yet.

Got my kid a day early since his mom is going in for surgery. As usual had a blast with him.

My friend Josh from Flagstaff is coming down with his family on Monday, can't wait to hang with them.

Sick?

Feel a little worn out. Feels like I'm coming down with something. Gonna drink lots of water and take it easy.

Finished Red Dead Redemption's single player. Gonna write a review later...It's going to be a long entry.

Rented Blur. A fast paced racing game where instead of just trying to get to the finishing line. You have to do that too on top of getting power ups and using on other driver's. So you can be doing good and in first place..all of a sudden BOOM! A missile hits you causing your car to take huge damage and slowing you down. The same thing goes for Multiplayer. I'm really digging this game. And they released the beta for multiplayer a couple of months back and I played the hell out of it.

Lost. The end

The epic night of the series finale of Lost started at 6pm with a 2 hour retrospect. Watching that, made me go back and remember the times I watched Lost over the years.

It was summer of 2005, I was working as a manager at a movie theater. Back then i really didn't watch much TV. I would watch nothing but movies. Some of the employees where talking about a show Lost, and how awesome it was. I read up on it and liked the premise of it. So I waited to get into it when the entire first season came out on DVD. When it finally was released in early September, i rushed over to my local Walmart and purchased it. 15 minutes into the first episode I knew this was something I've never seen before. I was hooked. I think i watched 10 episodes that day. I wanted to finish the first season since the second was starting a week or two later. By the time I got to the end of season1, I wanted more. I never missed an episode since. And if I did, I would catch the episode online. This show has been a 5 year roller coaster ride. And I loved every minute of it, even though a lot of questions and the mysteries weren't really answered till much later into the series.

Now comes the finale we've all been waiting for. The end of one of the most popular television series of all time. This finale will answer the ultimate question. "What will happen at the end?"

The final episode ran for two and a half hours. Known for it's flash backs, and in season 3 fooled the viewers by thinking the show was using it's normal formula of flashbacks. But turning around and did "flash forwards" So the final season introduced a "Sideways" timeline. Where the plane crash never happened and the characters made it to Los Angeles. and when it finally came down to the final episode, I thought i had everything figured out. But it wasn't until the final 15 minutes where the series threw me a curve ball. And when LOST tittle card came on the screen, I was left confused for a bit, a little angry. But once I thought about it a little more, I thought it was a brilliant way to end the show.

I'm going to really miss this show. All the mysteries and unanswered questions it threw at us every week, and all the great characters that came and gone. The Jimmy Kimmel special they did after, that was 100% Lost. They brought on most of the characters interviewed then as a group.

All in all it was a great night.

Redemption

Been playing the hell out of Red Dead Redemption. My god...RDR would be a PERFECT MMO, so many things to do. I've done more things in this game than other huge games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Plus on top of that, it's actually a hell of a lot of fun to do. It's very easy to get lost in the world of the west.

Multiplayer is somewhat limited so far. The online was launched with some problems at first. But was fixed almost immediately. I was able to team up with some friends, we formed a posse, raided some gang hideouts. My favorite has to be all of us getting into a stage coach. I was the driver, had a buddy sitting next to me, and a couple of more in the carriage. We drove to one of the main town of the game, and did some drive by stage coaching on some townsfolk and actual players. It was epic. It's a massive place to explore with your friends. But like I said it's only limited. They are adding a DLC in June, which will add 6 new multiplayer missions. I hope they keep adding content to expand the world. So far this is the best game I've played in a loooong time. I just got to the third and final act of the game. I'll throw up a FULL review when I finish it.

Started watching Ken Burns "The War" and I am absolutely blow away about this documentary. I've always been a WWII buff, always been fascinated by the history of it. Here comes along this 12+ hour film, that covers the entire war. I got to part 3, every part is about 100 minutes. Ken Burns is the master of his craft. I will re-watch his magnum opus "The Civil War" I still remember watching it in history class back in the mid 90's.

I had gotten me a new black wireless controller (official Microsoft brand) It works fine and dandy....BUT the up button on the D-pad doesn't work too well. I have to push it a few times in order for it to work. Didn't do anything at first. But it started to effect the game play. So i called Game Stop, and they said they would swap it for another new one. No problem. New controller works perfectly.

So LOST ends tomorrow..and I can't believe it's going to take up an entire night. From 6pm to 8pm starting with a retrospective. Followed by the series finally, which is going to be 2 hours and 30 minutes long. There will be no news on that station that night. Instead Jimmy Kimmel will be shown with a LOST post special. I will be there!!!

Red Dead Redemption (First Impression)

Not a lot of people knew that Rockstar made a first one back in 2004. Red Dead Revolver an underrated gem for the PS3 and the Xbox.

So far I've done patrols for the town I'm currently staying in. Which involve shooting bandits or shooting fox's who are stealing chicken. I moved on to taming horses, and hurdling cattle. I went into town and won a coupe of games of poker. Played a few rounds of Multiplayer. While it's no Modern Warfare 2, it's still a lot of fun. So far I'm loving it, and I just barely cracked the surface of the single player game.

When I got to Gamestop at midnight, The store manager told me he was glad he ran into me there, which saved him a phone call. He said that he wants me at his store as a key holder position. Only problem is that he can't hire me until the current key holder leaves, he is leaving in a month. He can't hire me as a part time because there ain't no payroll for it. So we'll see what happens in a month.

Handicap story of the decade

Me and some friends where having a conversation the other day about general crap, usually nerd bull shit. When the topic of handicap parking came up….how? I have no dam clue. Someone commented on how handicap people are always so rude and pissed off when it comes to handicap parking spaces, and think that they are king of the world, just because they cant use some part of their body. Well I think I would be pissed and rude to the world if I lost the ability to walk to fuck etc. It reminded me of a funny incident that I remember to this day. The story goes:

Summer ’99 I worked at AMC theatres in Allwhiteukee, AZ. Great place for friends, and got to the point where I would just go to work because I would get to hang out with cool people, didn’t care much about the job. Anyways. I use to get a ride home from a guy named Adam Benfield. “Bucky” we use to call him, I have no clue why. He lived the closest to my house, so it was no problem since it was on the way. I remember he use to like a girl who worked with us (Don’t remember the name) . He would always talk about her, and tell me she’s hot etc. So i told him well why don’t you ask her out? Give her a ride home since she didn't have a car either. (97% of the people who worked there didn't have cars since we where pretty much tweens) It took him 2 weeks to muster up the courage to ask her if she needed a ride home one night. She agreed since she was a nice person, from what I remember. Since he was my ride as well I had to tag along. I offered to stay at the theatre while he gives her a ride home and ask her out, that way he won’t feel as embarrassed to do so. He declined.

So the 3 of us (I was in the back seat) begin to drive to her place. They where hitting it off. She was telling him how they should hang out, and how he’s a great guy. I thought to myself this should be cake for him to ask her out. We drive up to her apartment complex, He tries to find a spot to park so we could all continue to talk, since we where enjoying each others company, especially the two in the front. He can’t find a place to park. He parks behind some cars parked in the handicap spots. (What follows is for some reason something that has stuck with me for nearly a decade.) In frustration from not finding a parking spot, he Begins to rant off about how he thinks handicap people are “stupid” and annoying, ungrateful, bitchy. I mean he goes on and on, for a minute and a half to two minutes. We all sit in silent for a few seconds.

“My mom is in a wheelchair…” was her remark that broke the silence.

I let out a loud chuckle. I swear to god I didn’t mean to. It just came out.

She was pissed. Adam had no clue what to tell her. She got out of the car and left. I think he was half joking about what he said, but it was too late the damage had been done. It was a looong drive home, we both sat in silence, feeling bad. Well Adam felt bad, I was trying not to laugh at the situation. I don’t know exactly what happened to that girl after that. I know she didn’t talk to either of us again. In fact I don’t remember her working there after what happened….

This is merely 1 crazy event of many, That I witnessed in my time working at the theatre. I should write a tell all. Hmmmmmmmmm????

Game Stop?

Went to an interview for a part time gig at G-stop. Since I've worked there 2 times before (2002 and 2006) I was pretty much unofficially hired. You know pending Background check. They are going to find a store to throw me in.

Going trough an old blog I had with wordpress for a while and integrating those post into this blog. I would just delete it. But it has a lot of stuff and pics of my kid.

Saw Iron man 2 with the fam on Mother's day. While not as good as the first one, I still enjoyed it. Then went and ate Chipotle. Ended up at AZ mills mall for shopping for 4 hours!!!

The Human Centipede

This movie looks so f%*^% up! I'm kind of curious to see it, and doubt they will even show it in my area. The closest that they're showing it is in Tucson. I'll just wait for DVD. Here's soem more info on it.

EPIC LAN party

Threw a LAN party at my place. Had a lot of fun.

My Nephew turned 17...damn I feel old..very old. Had food and cake the whole Nine yards.

Bought a couple of games from the bargain bin at Gamestop. CSI Deadly intent and Gears of War. I got gears of war so i could get the achievements for going trough the campaign on hardcore mode, also playing it with the nephew. CSI..well I was curious, and felt like playing a point and click game. Honestly it ain't that bad. A sherlock Holmes game I've been waiting for FINALLY came out for the 360. But I'm waiting for it to come in Used, so i can return in if it sucks.

World Of Warcraft

I started playing WOW since day one (2004) and played it straight till summer of 2008, when I was finally burnt out. I've dabbled here and there, playing a month here a month there. But never kept it more than that.

Activated my old WOW account, played it for maybe an hour...fucking BORINGGGG! And I guess I just need to remind myself once In a while, that there was a reason I left that game. Absolutely a waste of time! A few years back I would ask my friend if he's playing wow. and pretty much every response he gave me was "Yeah i play, I don't have a kid, so of course I do." Now I always found it funny and annoying that he would always reply to me, then I found out that he's just a loner and a loser. I look at some of my friends or previous friends who play, and I see how addicted they are, it's kind of sad. One friend doesn't feed his hungry child until he's ran a 3 to 4 hour raid on WOW. I came close to that, I came pretty close to borderline Ignoring my new born child, so I could run a dungeons, and took a part in straining my relationship with my kid's mother. That was so f&^% pathetic. Now I'm not gonna blame WOW completely, since it takes two to tango. Turning to Console games, it proved to be a remedy to get me away from WOW, and a console system doest require you to run dungeons for 4 to 6 hours a day. I swore never to play games while I was with my kid, and I'm happy to say I've keep true to my word. Sure I would play when he would go to sleep but that's okay.

Now I might try it again when the new expansion comes out...MIGHT being the keyword. Since they are finally bringing new content to a boring MMO.

Fail

These pictures cracked me up.

Plants Vs. ZOMBIES

Sitting here typing on the new keyboard, my wireless one crapped out on me in less than a year. Got me a Logitech USB, and it feels sooo nice to type on. So glad Walmart is open 24 hours. My last one would always add an extra letter to most of my words and the Shift key would stick. (no it's not "man cream") On my way to the register I found this.....

I gave it a try, I really did. It was fun for about 2 weeks, then I stopped because it came to the point where in order to proceed, I had to pay ACTUAL money to do so, or wait a looong time to build up enough money to advance. It's kind of sad that they have this by the registers.

Speaking of walmart...The bike I got from there, ain't working properly. It wont stay in any of the gears, it will stay for about a minute, then it will change to the lower gear till it gets to the first gear, pretty disappointed. Looks like I'm paying a visit to walmart in the morning to get another bike. Can't really expect much since I paid $74 + tax. Also need to pick up a cushion for the seat..my ass was so soar after my 30 minute ride. Now I know what it feels like to take it up the A*%^%^.

Got to mention my first impression on a PC game that came out last year, a game I hesitated to pick up. Plants Vs. Zombies. This was the best $20 bucks I've ever spent.

It's a tower defense game, where you take control of different type of plants to ward off the dead. It may sounds stupid but believe, this works wonderfully. This game is funny and so much fun! I will throw up a review when I finally finish it.
