Nerd post #26346

Got this for my birthday :) I already have The Lost and the Damned on my hard drive, but I don't own GTA 4 anymore. The cool thing about this pack is that you don't need the original game to play it, you just play the two games right out of the box.
I never finished the first Episode which is The Lost and the Damned. I got pretty far into it, but I got bored. I started playing the Ballad of Gay Tony, and I don't want to put it down. This episode is PURE fun. It's far better than TLATD and even GTA4.

Saw Fantastic Mr. Fox and I absoolutely loved it. Saw and advance screening of Nine and fell asleep trough it.

Modern Warfare 2 has turned into a cheaters playground. You can't really play a match online without running into someone who even though you shot then in the FACE, they wont die. It's just not fun anymore! I posted my game up on craigslist, maybe someone will have more fun with it than I did.

The Sabooteur is FUN but flaws sprinkled troughout the game keeps it from being a great game.

Forza 3 is HANDS DOWN the best racing game ever made. Only downside I ran into, was later in your career the racing tournaments last upwards 20 to 30 minutes...GEEEZ

Assassins Creed 2 is a fantastic game haven't finished it yet.

Birthday Awesomeness

I wanted to post my Cali trip update part 2 but the cable to the digital camera we borrowed doesn't work.

My birthday was really fun. We started out at Texas roadhouse for some awesome steaks.
Ridding the birthday saddle
We next went to smoke some hookah and kicked back for bit. And finally hitting up Applebees for drinks. Everyone who went bought me a drink. I was pretty drunk by the time we left. We all had a sweet tooth, so we hit up some Denny's where I had an orgasmic cheesecake. I came home and crashed. Now what surprised me was when i woke up, i was hardly hung over, for the amount of drinks I had it was weird.
I also Had my kid this weekend as well, so I spent the day with him pretty cool birthday present. He is getting so big every time I see him :)

Cali Trip: DISNEYLAND part 1

After a minor setback on Friday, we where off about an hour late. The trip was fun. Pulled over in indio, California to visit some dinosaurs.

We got to Fontana to visit my sister and brother. They made us dinner and got Liam a birthday cake.

Liam and his uncle Jerry

We stayed a my mom's friends house up near orange County. That place is very nice. Very different from the crapy area of LA.
The next morning we met up with my brother at his restaurant in Downtown La.

Waiting

Sitting here waiting for my moms new tires and aligment to be done to her car, I'm very happy that they have wireless in this place, or I would be stuck watching one of the 35 soap operas that's on tv right now.

We are getting the explored tuned up and ready to drive it to california for the weekend, That gives us a chance to find out if there's anything wrong with it, we already had the dealership replace the stereo and winshield and including this current trip to the tire shop for free.

Taking my kid to Disneyland for his birthday. He's turning 2! First time I will be traveling with him. I'm going to try to meet up with my brother and his side of the family on Friday night.

Love driving the Honda around. Took my friends around town on Saturday, aside from the radio only seeming to pick up Mexican stations. Maybe in the near future I can throw in a decent sound system.

Car

Saw 2012, it was really fun. Then I was invited to see New Moon 2 days before it came out. If I would have paid to see the movie I would of been pissed. But since I saw it for free, the movie was tolerable.

My mom got a 2000 For Explorer. Long story short we got the 2001 Honda Passport fixed! So my mom gave it to me. WEEEE. I love the car now that it runs very nice. Now me and my mom have have really nice reliable cars that will not break down on us :)

I am totally hooked on Assassins creed 2, Shit loads of things to do, gripping story and everything that was crap in the last game was addressed in this sequel and made better.

Left 4 Dead 2...well I paid a total of 27 dollars and change (after some store credit was applied)
I wanted to enjoy this game, but I just couldn't. They should of just released it in a DLC with L4D 1. I posted it on Craiglist for $50. That afternoon I received about 50 text messages and a dozen phone calls from people who wanted to buy it off me. I sold my copy to someone who will have more fun with it than I did. I don't regret it one bit. 23 dollar PROFIT!!!

Modern warfare 2 review

This game is a notch above it's big brother Call of duty 4. The graphics are outstanding, the action is non stop and very intense. I found myself by the end of every level with my pulse racing and trying to calm down from what I experienced.
While the story will be very confusing for some, I've already heard some people say that they've tried to figure out what they spent 4 or so hours doing.

While I never really found it too hard to follow the story. But with out giving anything away, the Russians try to invade America. They do a pretty good job in doing so, managing to destroy all of Washington D.C. Wes pend the rest of the game involved in revenge and betrayal. There is a level where you are undercover infiltrating a Russian terrorist cell, and they massacre almost everyone at a Russian airport. While I've heard some stuff about it and I was expecting it, I was still a little disturbed by it, women and children being slaughter while running for their lives, this game pushes the envelope for future tittles. It's truly a game you have to experience for yourself.

The online experience is where the meat of the package is, and boy did they make it more fun than ever.

I guess my only complaint is that the single player clocked in at just under 5 hours, I played it on medium, I'm sure it will add an hour or so if you bump up the difficulty. This is a fantastic game with the multiplayer experience that will keep you busy for a really long time.

Fun day

What an amazing day that I had. We had a suprise birthday party for my sister. My mom got a bouncy thing for everyone to jump on. Liam had a field day with it. From the morning till about 8 pm. It tired me out. Lots of people showed up including 16 teenage girls...geez.

MW2

Its finally here!

ME and friends on Monday night hit up Happy hour for some food, to kill time for the midnight release of Modern Warfare 2. The food was good, just the service really SUCKED. I left no tip.

We got to gamestop around 11:30 and the line was wrapped around the building, it was nerd central. Got my game and headed home, as we where driving out of the parking lot there was still a big ass line.

Well first thing we did was try the Multiplayer mode. it blew me away. They took the already fun MP mode in COD4 and made it 20 times better. it's even more richer and deep as ever. I hit level 32 tonight. I'm about 2 hours into the Story mode and I'm loving it so far.

Cops are DICKS! sort of

Earlier tonight I went out to drop a movie off that i rented. I get pulled over by a cop! it's been a couple of years I think since that had happened. I pulled over and the cop approached me. "Do you know why i pulled you over?" he asked me with an attitude. "Not really" I replied. The cop reaches into my car and flips on my headlights and tells me to "Pay attention" and walks back to his car. I thought I was speeding, but I guess not lol.
I hesitated on picking up Dragonage, but I broke down and got it. I'm 18 hours into the game, and I can say that this is the best RPG game I've played in the last decade. The story is what keeps you hooked. I love every second of this game, and I'm glad i picked it up.

I went and saw This is it. That Michael Jackson documentary. And it was PURE AWESOME! I expected something different, but it was really good.

Halloween and some Paranormal Activity

The young couple being harassed by a "Demon"

Friday night hit up Buffalo wild wings with David, we decided to try some HOT boneless wings instead of the usual MILD, that was a BIG mistake, i barely finished mine, while David gave up after eating 4. Met hong at the theaters to see paranormal Activity. I heard allot of hype about this movie. From The scariest movie ever made to people not being able to sleep or having nightmares after viewing this flick. the story is simple, a young couple are being bothered by a demon at night, so they set up a camera in the bedroom to record any strange things. Now being a somewhat religious person, and from my point of view, i believe demons are real. So I went in kind of scared. It was actually good and creepy, being on a 15k budget, they did a pretty good job. Yet i had no problem sleeping I could see how it could really affect people.

Saturday was Halloween. My sister turned 15, so we celebrated her birthday. She lip syncing dance at her school, which her group won best choreograph, which my sister did :). Usually every year for Halloween I hit the Goodwill in the morning and rummage trough their clothes and see if I can make a costume out of what they got. Once i was able to trough together a ninja outfit for 3 bucks. But this year I really wasn't in the mood for it. Opting instead to hang with the family. I settled for gaming with my friend David on some Borderlands. Not a bad weekend.

Borderlands playtrough 1

Like I said in a previous post, this game was the most fun I've had playing multi player. When I got the game at midnight, I played it for 5 hours with friends straight! There is plenty to do, plenty of guns to collect. Now if you ask me about the story, i couldn't tell you, because it take s backseat to the game. All i would do is activate the quest and go to the marker on the map and do what it said. From what I could tell, there is this cave or mine that's is locked and opens every 200 years, and when we jump into the game that time has come, but to open it it requires several keys. After doing a few side quest and main story quest, they give you kind of a boss quest where you have to defeat the person and grab one of the keys.

Playing alone is probably one of the downsides of this game, because after playing for hours with your friends and having a blast knocking out quest after the quest, it's just not as fun, but still good. the driving mechanics are good, I know allot of people had complaints about it. towards the end of the game is where it gets freaking hard, they bring in two new enemies to deal with. Again, I wasn't paying attention to the story so i don't really know where they came from. I had a friend who had already beaten it, help me trough the final battle...which didn't make much sense BUT was still fun to play.

So me and a couple of friends knocked out a few achievements, finished up whatever I needed done, and i started my second play trough , which starts you with the level and weapons you finished the game with. the enemies at the starting area are now harder and at around your level. It's almost as if you need more than one person to play trough the second time, because it is a pain.

My final thoughts of Borderlands is...PLAY IT! Sure the story doesn't really make sense, but who cares it's just plain fun, a mindless shooter that you can play roughly 30 hours with your friends. no game can or has done that. And there is 4 classes to play trough, so there is plenty of replay there.

Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend final review

Uncharted 2 is hands down the best game I've played in years, better than my favorite 2007 game Bioshock. From the minute i picked it up I had to fight myself to put it down. This is the perfect blend of video game and film with the look of a 100 million dollar production value, this game is huge! The voice acting is fantastic and the graphics are eye candy. The puzzle are big, yet there aren't that many or hard to figure out. There is plenty to do in the multiplayer side and a HORDE type mode that you and two other friends can play. The only down side i can think of is that by the end of the game dealing with the enemies became kind of old. but that's just a personal complaint, and in no way should keep anyone from playing this.

I made the mistake of playing this game right after I played Uncharted 2, it's a completely different pace, so at first i was kind of bored. When I played the demo it was a action packed game, but when I picked up the full version, it turned into a RTS (real time strategy) which was cool, but it's not balanced. The humor and voice acting is enjoyable, but I found myself with a completely different game from the demo, and frankly I was bored. maybe I'll try it again in the future and get a different result.

Mad Men in HD

Got myself a Blu-ray player all in one sound system. It sounds awesome, shakes my entire room. So I've been on a blu-ray kick lately

I watched the first season of Mad Men on blu-ray, because my girlfriend hasn't seen it and it was dirt cheap used. I saw it when it first aired in standard definition, so when i saw it in 1080p I was blown away on how amazing it looked. This show remains one of my favorites next to breaking bad, and that era in NYC fascinates me.

I picked up Planet Earth as well, and I'm loving it so far. I have 8 more episodes to go!

Hookah NO MORE!!!

So last weekend I went out with the fellas too Happy hour, because i was in the mood for Boneless wings. Then we decided to go too smoke some hookah. I was really hesitant at first because i wasn't really in the mood to smoke. We tried another hookah joint right across the street from our regular spot. It was more of a night club than anything, really loud music and the customers where mostly middle easterner's who I assume go to ASU. The pipe was a much better quality than our usual joint. Not even an hour in we left and called it a night, it was so loud we couldn't have a conversation. I started to get really sick and threw up when i got home. I will be taking a loooooooooong break from smoking hookah. It's nice to have once in while, but the friends like to do it a little bit too often.

Dark Knight and some more Borderlands

Hit lvl 24 on my Tank in borderlands. About 98% of my game play has been with friends. Reminds me allot like WOW. So far there is allot to do. We left the starting area and arrived into a more open area, filled with bandits who drive around in cars trying to take you out, and BUGS! tons of bugs. We killed a huge boss creature that took a good 5 minutes to kill. One quest sent us back to the starting area to kill a huge bird boss, that one was a bitch to kill. I don't know how far we are into the game, I'm guessing coming up to the halfway mark.

I picked this one up used at Zia used for dirt cheap! but man does this look and sound AMAZING. The Imax sequences fill up the entire screen of my tv.

Oh you funny IGN

LOL love it

Borderlands

Borderlands is the most fun I've had in co op ever

Me and friends where pumped for this game. A role playing first person shooter RPG?? HECK YEAH. Plus to top it off 4 player co op? OMG.
We arrived at Gamestop right at 11pm. there was 1 other person there waiting for the game. Around 11:30 it grew to about 20 people, and me and my friend where the first in line. 12:05am we where in the car and heading home with the game in hand. We planned to game it till sunrise.

I had soda and candy in hand, and me and 2 other friends tarted playing the game. 5 HOURS LATER! We had to force ourselves to stop playing....It was really fun. The guns are plenty and the enemies are fun to kill. It's seriously like a mini MMO. I can't wait to play some more.

More PS3 suckage and don't let your nephew play with your games!

So me and a friend where trying to play some co op in Uncharted 2. I synched my bluetooth headset to the PS3 and thought I was set to go. So I joined a party and tried talking into it, nothing...after a few minutes I went into chat settings and had to activate the bluetooth, after that was done I was able to hear myself over the speakers. Now I went back into the party, and told my friend I was ready. But I guess the guy was having problems synching his bluetooth as well. Now this is 20 minutes into trying to figure all of this....this is ridiculous!! So he finally got his up and running, so a total of about half an hour was spent trying to figure everything out, plus a few "Network connection errors" We where able to play a couple of games. It just boggles my mind on why Sony makes it so hard to team up. AGAIN if we where playing on the Xbox 360 we would of been up and running in seconds, it also helps that the headsets are connected to the controllers, so no need to connect over bluetooth. SONY get with the f^&& program.

So I was about 5 hours into Uncharted 2, roughly 75% finished. I saved and called it a night. My nephew wanted to play it, I hesitated at first, because I was worried that he might saved over my progress. But He assured me he would be very careful. This morning I go to play it and possibly finish the game, and I find out that he saved over my progress....I WAS PISSED. He got about 55% into the game. So I just started from his progress. Losing about an hour and a half....Better than starting from the beginning again. I don't hate my nephew, he just wont touch any of my games from now on!

Community

This cracked me up

Passed out around 10pm and just woke up. I guess I was really tired.

My nephew stayed the night over at our house. I told him about Drakes Fortune 2, and he didn't believe me when I mentioned to him that this game is amazing. So after watching me play for an hour, he was blown away. I went to bed and he ended up playing his own game til 5 in the morning.

Uncharted 2 and Some Brutal legend and maybe some Borderlands

I'm about 55% into the game. And all I can say is "Wow. Just WOW" the sequel to the 2007 critically acclaimed Uncharted, ups the game 10 fold. I sat down and told myself "I'm just going to play 20 minutes" Almost 2 hours later, I found myself glued to the TV and not wanting to stop. Even my girlfriend was into all the all the non stop action and excitement. I will write a full review when I'm done with it.

I played a little bit of Brutal legend. Now I don't know what it was, maybe i wasn't in the mood, but I wasn't really feeling it. I expected allot better. BUT! I've only played a little bit of the game. so I'm not going to bash it until Ive played some more and beaten it.

Pretty excited to pick up Borderlands on Tuesday. I reserved it the other day, trading in Halo 3 ODST (this game burnt me out) and GTA 4 (DONE WITH IT). Gamestop was giving 25% extra trade in credit towards the game. It's a first person shooter/RPG. An open world game, where you travel and do quests. The thing that attracted me to this game, was that you can play with 3 other people, and go trough the entire game together. I can be on a quest by myself and maybe be having problems with it, i call a couple of my friends to get them to help me out, we take care of it, and whatever they got and exp, they bring it all back with them in their solo game. I don't think a game has done anything like that. Fable II tried to do that, but failed miserably when the player couldn't bring any xp, weapons, or gold back with them.

Carrier

I was browsing Netflix on the xbox 360 and stumbled on to this Documentary that follows the deployment, from May 7, 2005 to November 8, 2005, of the supercarrier USS Nimitz. US Navy. It follows the crew and interview them on their experience and how they feel about the war. I found myself glued to this 10 part miniseries. It gives you the up close and personal view of how it is to live aboard a floating city for six months at a time, and how really difficult it is. I found myself caring for them, and by the end I was crying along with them when they arrived home to see their families and children. I haven't seen nothing like this.

I rented Destroy All Humans...I absolutely hated that game...horrible!I took it back and swapped it out for Saw for the 360. I have to say they got the feel and look of the Saw series right, it's pretty freaking creepy, and some of the stuff they make you do. Like Grabbing a key that's in a toilet full of used syringes. Some of the trap you have to get out of or save people from are pretty hard and F*** UP, but fun. The combat system is the worst I've ever seen in a video game. But that doesn't completely take away from this demented cynical game. It does what it was set out to do, CREEP YOU OUT.

All in all it was a pretty lazy weekend.

Dirt 2 and Hookah

I'm not a huge fan of racing games, if not at all. But decided to give Dirt 2 a try, after it got wide critical acclaim from critics, and I have to say that i was blown away on how much fun and addicting this game is, and the racing is very exciting. The career mode is VERY long, I kid you not. But it doesn't get repetitive. Each race is different. The online mode is based on experience points where you try to beat some real people, but I didn't put too much time into this. I can see myself buying this game down the line when the price drops, or until Dirt 3 comes out. Because now I'm a BIG fan of the series.

Hit up some Serranos's with David for some awesome Mexican food. Then met up with hong at King Tut's for hookah. I have to say that My eyes almost fell out of my head from all the hot girls that where there, almost didn't want to leave. We decided to go and check out Paranormal Activity but was sold out until the 1am showing. Decided to call it a night, after hitting up Albertson's for a candy run. Went home and gamed it for a bit with friends till i crashed pretty early

LEVAR WHAAAAAAt?!

This SHOCKED me when I first read this. I was traumatized. Did he really suffer and hate Reading Rainbow so much? Did he go 20 plus years like that??! But minutes later on Levar Burton's twitter account he confirmed that he did not write the article. The good people over at The Onion did. Pretty freaking hilarious.

Levar Burton's "My living nightmare of encouraging kids to read is over"

Ten things girls think are cute, but aren't
So true lol

CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS!!!! GAH!

So efin CREEPY!
Man....I would SH*** myself if i where to go in here

SCORE!

I found this while rummaging trough Zia Records.
It was a Limited Collector's Edition of Call Of Duty 4. It came with a DVD of the making of, the art of Call of Duty 4, and of course the game. PLUS it was dirt cheap. I had to buy it. Since I only had the game for the ps3 and ended up selling it. I'm glad I got it because I ended up playing with 3 of my friends tonight, had a blast.

My friend recently got back from Bangkok, we where talking about our new laptops we got, and that they both have Web cams built in them. So I did my first Video Chat on Skype. Not bad. We talked on the phone anyways lol. That's me at the bottom left.

A couple of first impressions

Renewed frankcardona.info for another year lol. Expires on 12-05-10. Godaddy is cheap, but on your way out to the checkout line on their site, is very annoying. They try to sell you everything! They seem very desperate. Also got rid of my other personal blog that Godaddy was hosting. It was 7 bucks a month. Didn't use it much anymore because Wordpress wasn't stable, it would glitch constantly, so I stopped blogging on it. Blogger has been good to me, they Host this for free.

Bought a couple of DLC's from XBL.

Shadow Complex. I've been hearing nothing but good things about this game. So I gave it a shot, and I was hooked. Reminds me of old school Metroid. This game looks amazing and it's a 2-D game, with some 3-D moments here and there. You get experience and level up. You can follow the objective path, or wander a bit away from it and be rewarded with power ups. I can't wait to finish it.

I was moments from buying Sam & max Save the world, when I saw a review of Trials HD. I quickly changed my mind and bought it instead. I can describe the game as being RIDICULOUSLY hard! But you can't help to have a blast each time you play it, it's pretty addicting. There's no racing anybody else This is a fun game , the only controls are brake. accelerate, tilt back or forward. I made 2 good decisions on arcade games today.

Weekend Roundup

The weekend with my kid was awesome. Also tiring! But that's a good thing. I stayed in on Saturday because Liam and I where running all over the place. The park, the store and around the house. We where both dead tired.
Sunday was spent mostly outside. I dropped my son off and headed to eat with my lady. Kind of a weekly ritual.

Came home and did 2 hours of Halo odst Firefight with David. It didn't really seem that long. Did it for the achievement for reaching 200k points. After that round, we where joined by Chris and one of David's friend. Did 90 or so minutes on another level in Firefight. This was fun, 4 of us running around trying to stay alive! We all stopped when we got the 200k achievement. This is my video game quota for a few days. I will only do long gaming sessions like that if it's on the weekends, If I don't have my son that weekend, or making sure I take care of my Gf first.

Watched Disc 2 of Smallville season 8. Glad the Blue-Ray disc can hold 6 episodes instead of the regular 3 or 4 a DVD holds. I've heard a lot of bad things about it. But I like it. the Move from Smallville to Metropolis is a nice and fresh change for the show. I will admit, that the same characters especially the females, getting into danger every week is getting a little old...8 seasons OLD. But they are showing Clark finally start to evolve to what he is meant to do in life.

Time for some ZZZzzzzZZZZz

Nerd RANT "Gamer Points"

I never really played my games on the xbox for achievements, sure they are nice to have, but I don't play the games JUST to get them. I know a few fellow gamers who play the games just for the Gamer points. If they don't have any gamer points worth getting, then there's no reason to play the game at all, which kind of sucks. The way I do it I get gamer points by going trough the game, beating a level or killing enemies, blowing stuff up. Once I've taken care of the game then I'll go back and try to get some Gamer points, If I can't get it or it's too hard I just don't do it, no big deal. I get some crap because I reached the 18k mark in GP, I've been told that I do the same thing, I always tell them No, I have that much because I actually almost see every game that I play trough to the very end, unless it really sucks ass, then I stop playing it. I know some people who if they can't get gamer points they stop playing...which is sad. I remember the days of old school gaming, where you played games just to play! none of this hard core bullshit!

Best video ever!

If they would of put this in Star Wars it would of made billions of dollars!

F^%$^% ZOMBIELAND

This movie was one word. AMAZING. I didn't want to get myself too hyped about it, because I heard a lot of good things. But it exceeded my expectations. The characters where awesome, the movie was hilarious and there was gore galore. This has to be my favorite zombie movies since the 2004 remake of Dawn of the dead. i wasn't a fan of Shawn of the dead, everyone praises it...but I don't see what's so good about that flick. There is a cameo that will be remembered for a really long time, absolute freaking funny. Fan of Zombie movies or not, see this movie.

After the movie, we went to eat some Buffalo wild wings and shot the shit. It was a fun night.

Video Game Facts

It’s a wild world of gaming out there. The video game industry’s history is decorated with its share of scandals and silly moments. Spoiled by the Internet’s ability to serve us with inside scoops as they happen, there are some stories that many missed of days past. Here are some fun facts to beef up your trivia arsenal…

PlayStation Was Almost A Nintendo Product

Back in the 16-Bit console wars, there was a lot of pressure to move on to the “revolutionary new technology” known as CD-ROM. Nintendo was still king of the hill, but was losing some ground due to the Sega CD and PC Engine. Nintendo began working with Sony to produce a CD-ROM drive for their SNES. It was named the “Play Station.”

Where the Big N made their gravest error was then going behind Sony’s back to more seriously pursue a deal with Phillips to engineer the CD-ROM add-on instead. Furious, Sony took the technology that it had already developed and invested in releasing their own competitive console. And Sony has been one of Nintendo’s most aggressive rivals ever since.

The Atari Landfill

The early 1980s were a dark time in video game history. The market had been flooded with so many crappy games that it suffered a near-fatal crash. The final nail in the coffin appeared to be ET: The Extra-Terrestrial for the Atari 2600, universally agreed upon as the worst video game of all time. They literally couldn’t give the game away, resorting to distributing the game as the free prize in breakfast cereal.

At the end of it all, Atari ordered all remaining copies of ET, as well as many other titles they were unable to sell to be driven out into the desert by the truckload, and buried in a landfill. Somewhere in New Mexico now rests an Atari graveyard, filled with thousands of unsold cartridges. Don’t think about seeking relics of gaming’s past, since Atari chose that particular landfill due to its no-scavenging policies and every cartridge was thoroughly crushed to bits before being buried.

Most Games Are Developed By The Same People

Whenever a video game company wants to knock out a game, but reserve all their in-house talent for the blockbuster titles, they outsource it to another development house. The house often turned to is Tose. Tose has developed games for Sega, Capcom, Square-Enix… just about everyone.

PS3 hater?

Having waaay to much fun with the web cam....

I want to add on to my previous post, about hatting the Ps3 so much and selling it. Couple of friends (who are PS3 fan boys) called me a PS3 hater! I just want to say I don't hate the system, It has a great Blue Ray player....and that's about it. My breaking point was when me and a couple of friends tried to join a party together and play Call Of Duty 4, an be able to talk to each other and not the other people in the game. I guess you can't do that on the ps3. You can Invite people to the game your playing, but you can't have a private conversation with them. I almost lost it! I paid a few hundred bucks for something that sucks &^%*&!! Not to mention the constant network disconnection problems it would have at least every ten minutes. I will jut stick to buying a Blue Ray player, and I posted the ps3 on craigslist for almost 100 dollars more than what I paid for it, and guess what? someone bought it! So I didn't loose anything. In fact because of that sale I was able to get a laptop. Will I miss out on anything coming out for the ps3? sure. But Down the road if I find a ps3 that's pretty cheap or a used one at Gamestop, and when the games I missed out on a year later are dirt cheap then I'll try it again. The ps3 is good for ONE thing, BLUE RAY...THAT'S IT. I'll stick to the xbox 360 where it's easy to gather friends and play a game in a private party.

New lappy

Got me a spanking new laptop!

I sold my piece of crap no good PS3, and I got 100 more than what I paid for it on Craigslist. I headed over to best buy and got me this bad boy. Its not a hard core gaming laptop or anything but it can can play like WOW whenever I return to it, and it has a web cam integrated it in. It's sexy and red and i'm happy with it. that is all.

Short Video Game break

Here's another pic I really liked with my kid. he was about 6 months at the time

After a really weird and Interesting day (Don't feel like typing it all out) I came home and relaxed. I rented Too Human kind of out of the blue without hearing much about it. I got to say it's a love-hate relationship so far. The controls are weird at first, instead of button mashing, you use the two joy sticks on the controller, one to move and the other to attack, this is kind of the games downfall, but after a while you get use to it. The battles are awesome, your taking on dozens of enemies at once is cool, and with a hit of a button you can slam your fist to the ground and burn them all up. This is an RPG game, so there are different classes to choose from, talent trees, loot drop, etc. it gives a cool touch to the game. That being said THIS GAME S IS HARD! I died allot, now when I say allot, I'm not talking 2 times during a level, i mean 10 times at least during each section of a level, the good thing about that, or maybe bad depending on some people, is that when you die there isn't Anny repercussion, an angel type of goddess comes down SLOWLY...dear got it takes about 45 seconds for her to resurrect you, after that your back at the exact location you died and you continue fighting. I like this game so far, it looks beautiful, and yet I dislike some parts maybe I'll finish it before the game is due back or maybe not!

Played some more halo odst with a friend. We tried to do the campaign on Legendary mode. It was HARD. We died every other minute or so, definitely doable. i can see it taking about 6 hours to complete it.

I went to the lady friends house and went swimming...It was COLD, but felt good.

After all this game talk, I will be taking a little break from hardcore gaming. i play waaaay tooo much and it's starting to give me headaches starring at the screen all the time. I need to focus on other things like school and my girlfriend! I'll play about an hour a day instead of the 3 or 4 I usually do. I love games, but when you feel like its a chore instead of having a good time, maybe it's time to step back a bit...uck. Don't want to burn myself out when there are 2 big games coming out on the 13th of October. Brutal Legend and Uncharted 2.

it was a good season start for californication and Dexter. My Sunday nights will be watching that instead of VIDEO GAMES! again...uck

Short ass awesome game

Saw Fame on Friday night....It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and it definitely was 10000 times better than Mama Mia...that movie hurt my brain after i saw it.

I hung out with the Lady friend during the day, then Played Some more Dirt 2, never really been a fan of racing games but this one is pretty fun and addicting.

Watched some more episodes of Smallville season 7 so complex and very entertaining.
Went to Old Chicago with David and Hong, had some orgasmic pizza talked for a bit and headed home.

We had a long night ahead of us playing and beating Halo ODST. A buddy of hours was online and tagged along and we played co op mode. It was fun, it made us start from the beggining, we where kind of bummmed but we went along with it. Since there where three of us playing, we where breezing trough the missions pretty quickly. Our third player had to leave. So me and david thought we had 3 or 4 hours ahead of us to complete the game. not really, an hour and a half later we where watching the end credits and where left with...wow this game can be beaten in about 3 hours. it takes 6 hours to play solo from what i've heard. But it's ok we only went trought it the first time on Normal mode, We will try for heroic and legendary next time. We also got new characters and levels unlocked for Firefight mode. So it wasn't a complete dissapointment. I'm glad Xbox makes games where you can play together with 3 of your friends and share a fun experience. Ps3 doesnt make it easy for you to do that.

Finished the night off with some more episodes of Smallville s7. I was getting into it but I was so tired! I have one more episode left to finish and I want to get into season 8 right away! I'm one season behind from catching up to the new season which started Friday.

Flash Forward

So this is how much of a nerd and gamer I am. me and a friend lasted nearly 2 hours, (115 minutes, 1 hour 55 minutes to be exact) We did Firefight on easy. It was pretty awesome. This is the longest I've played on this mode, our previous attempt was 40 minutes on Medium. Wave after wave got harder and harder. Even got an achievement for reaching 200,000k in points. Going to attempt to do the xbox all nighter on Saturday with friends and try to complete the campaign mode.

Watched Flash Forward last night, I've been anticipating this show for a while now. I can say it delivered, So much mystery just like Lost, both done by the same people. Everyone in the world dropped and passed out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds, When they awoke they all recalled having a FLASH FORWARD, living their lives 6 months into the future. One of the FBI agents played by John Cho, who did not have a Flash Forward fears that he didn't have one because he will be dead, anyways hes called over by another fellow agent, who is reviewing surveillance tapes and spots something weird during the time everyone blacked out at a baseball stadium during a game, they spot a man walking about the stadium among the uncounsious people. The episode ends! And was followed up with a trailer on what to expect in the coming weeks, which in my opinion was epic. I hope the series last and we find out what the hell is going on!

ODST

So after doing some research and watching reviews on the net. I broke down and decided to get Halo 3 ODST.

Watched the season premiere of house with the lady friend, and it was pretty freaking cool. It looked awesome in HD. Sadly we had to leave about half an hour before it finished, so i could go reserve Halo OSTD before 9pm and come back and get it at midnight.

Came back home an did some Nazi Zombie killing in World at War with Chris, until David came and picked me up to go stand in line for Halo. We got there and there where about 4 people there. Stood in line and cracked jokes about how half the nerds there where with their moms awwwwwwww. there was this white nerd kid who was ranting on and on about how Mortal kombat didn't have enough violence and pissed him off to no end, the kid appeared to be drunk and high.

Got the game and came back home to play some campaign with David it was cool, we did a couple of rounds of firefight, where they send waves of bad guys at you and you try to survive as long as possible. Also the game came with a second disc that has all of the halo 3 multi player maps and a couple of new ones, it ain't no call of duty but it's still decent. All in all for what i got and how much fun it is so far, I'm glad i picked it up.

Light rail MADNESS

Saturday me and the fam decided to ride the valley light rail. It goes from mesa to Phoenix. I had Liam with me, of course I had to hold him with me because he couldn't keep still. It was pretty cool...Well until we starting getting into downtown Phoenix. All the crazy people start to come out. On our way back from Phoenix. A drunk Native American older lady came on with I'm assuming her boyfriend, who looked like he was just a kid. She started screaming and yelling at him that they where going the wrong way on the Rail. the guy was trying to calm her down, and at the next stop they both got off, with her cursing at the guy. We stopped right by the Diamond backs stadium and a few fans got on, including a very drunk native American older man, (WHAT IS IT WITH THESE PEOPLE?) he sat all over the place, and finally sitting next to my sister and tried to get frisky with him, that's when i lost it and shoved him to the ground, the next stop arrived the doors opened and I shoved him outside....he was to wasted to fight back. The rail continued on in to Tempe and finally to our starting point, our CAR!

We where all pretty tired, we stopped at McDonald's to get food for my fam, my kid got a happy meal.

I got ready and was picked up by friends and for some F&^%*& reason we arrived 2 hours early to see Jennifer's body. Ate some chipotle and ran into an old friend who was a manager there. Even after all of that we had like and hour and a half before the movie started. Since we all worked there back in the day, we talked to a friend of hours who was working for about half an hour. Jennifer's Body which was written by Diablo Cody, responsible for Juno and the united States of Tarra. It kind sucked...I liked the dialogue...but the story was stupid DONE BEFORE.

i came home and my kid was having trouble sleeping, i laid with him in bed and he fell asleep. Watched a couple of episodes of Smallville season 7 on Blue-ray.

the Next day we just chilled, watched the rest of the episodes on the first disc of Smallville, it was pretty entertaining, Even though clearly the show has gone on wayyyy to long. Played with my kid until he had to go home.

the Emmy's where kind of boring this year, But happy that Alec Baldwin won AGAIN! he is my favorite actor on TV, cracks me up ever time i see that show.

Was pretty close to reserving Halo ODST today, even pulled up to Gamestop, but then realized, if i didn't really like part 3, I'll probably not like this one, i will just stick to renting and if I like it then maybe I'll buy it. I won't buy a game that's 60 bucks until Modern Warfare 2 comes out. Also thinking of selling my ps3! if i can get more than what i paid for it then I'll get rid of it.

Liam and the park

I got home and waited for my kid to arrive, I got a surprise call from my dad telling me that he was going to come and see Liam. Liam got here and we all hung out for a bit. Since it's my older sisters birthday, my dad and mom and the rest of the family went to the D-backs game. Didn't want to take Liam because he will not be able to sit still for long periods of time and would be running around the stadium and probably onto the field during the game :)

I took him to the park instead. We walked to my local park smack in the middle of our neighborhood. They have this huge play area with slides etc. and a few feet away they have the exact same thing but half the size, for kids around Liam's age. Which is cool. We spent a good hour there and we where both tired. came home we both passed out on the couch, and i put him to bed.

Played some more Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 with David. It's a fun game but it's starting to get repetitive and drawn out. Kind of looking forward to the new Halo game that's coming out on Tuesday I have a few friends who I can go trough the campaign mode with.

Flagstaff hangover

Recapping my trip to flagstaff last week.

I always love going up there, Mainly because the weather is a hell of allot better than down here in PHX. And one of my good friend's and his family live up here, so I have a place to stay and someone to visit. This time around we went for my friends birthday. We planned on going out that Friday night and head out to the Grand canyon the next morning.
So we headed out for sushi, and I immediately got buzzed on Sake bombers. Next we went down to the downtown area, where all the college kids where. We went to a sports bar to have some more drinks and shoot the shit. After about an hour we headed over to a popular bar, we actually visited a few months back. It was crowded, and they had 2 for 1 drink specials. I had a blast, and the music the Dj was playing rocked every time He would put a song on. We where pretty gone at this point. But we did have a Designated driver so we where safe, except the part on our way to Denny's he almost hit a car coming into the turn lane. Why we went to Denny's? I don't know!? But I think i ordered a Burger with a Sunny side up egg in the middle of it...ew.
I woke up pretty sick, and the burger didn't help either. We cancelled the trip to the Grand Canyon because we all felt like shit. So we just chilled and ate some hangover sandwiches from Safeway that made me feel a little better. Hit up a best buy and headed back down to PHX. Flag is a great place to visit just not a great place to Live. I love PHX even though its hotter than a witches tit, I can't see myself living anywhere else.

I'm getting too old to do shit like that anymore, I think i will cut it down to getting completely wasted to 2 times a year.

"Freshness." WARNING nerd rant

Starting brand spanking new here. I will add a custom domain name to this in the near future. I also wanted to keep this only to friends and family. I made the mistake of posting a link to my other blog on twitter. Of course the x and mother of my child regularly checks my twitter and reads my blog.

Ive been working (part time) and going to school. Which is actually allot of fun.

The court ordered visitations have been going very well. I see Liam every other weekend, which works perfect. His mom drops him off at 5pm and I return him Sunday at 5pm. every time I see him. he is a bit bigger, I am able to take him on kiddy rides, WHICH he enjoys. My kid rocks.

I saved up a while for a HDTV. I did about a month or so of research of what I wanted to get exactly. There are so many different options sizes, brands, LCD or PLASMA and the newly released type LED. Since I'm a gamer LCD would be the best way to go. Plasma was the first type of HDTV to come out and burns out faster. LED cost waaaay to much right now. Naturally I chose Best Buy and found a great selection. I was about to walk out with a 32 inch Samsung 1080p. Then I saw a 42 inch LG 1080p LCD for $100 dollars more. So with protection plan and tax etc. It came out cheaper than what I saved up for. To enjoy the full HD I had to purchase an HDMI cable. But they where $40+ at Best Buy. I called Game Stop and they had a used one for 20 bucks. So after everything was plugged. I fired up my Xbox 360 and I was blown away on how amazing it looked. I was able to enjoy Fallout 3 to it's full potential. Every game I play now looks beautiful. Not to mention that it comes with a built in digital converter, making my local channels look sexy. I watched Bones Tonight and I was blown away on how it looked. Sadly my cable channels are analog so it doesn't look that good. Maybe one day I will get digital cable.

Naturally since I got the HDTV, I was on the hunt for a Blue-Ray Player. The cheapest one I found was a $78 dollar one at walmart that was on clearance. It had been marked down a few times from $120. Then I said screw it I'll just get a PS3, since I can get the blue-ray player and be able to play games that I missed out on. I went to Fry's electronics, and got a bundle special they where offering for a good price. It was a Drake's Fortune Bundle 160gig model. When I brought it home and opened it up, I got more than what i was expecting 2 wireless controllers, Pirates of the Caribbean 2, and a voucher for a free game online. Plus Drakes Fortune which is a great game. Pirates 2 looked great when I popped it in and sounded great (With optical cable) I got band Of brothers on blue ray and WOW. Loved how it looked and sounded. I saw all ten episodes with my family out in the living room with the sound system over 5 days. I will buy my blu-ray's used unless its something awesome like Lord of the rings trilogy coming out soon! I got Call of Duty 4 and finally got Metal Gear Solid 4 for really cheap like $15 bucks used. I have to say that MGS4 has to be one of the best games ever made. It's really hard to put the controller down when playing. Also the PS3 up converts regular DVD's to 1080p to make it look sexy on your TV. But with all the Blue-Ray stuff that the PS3 can do, the system is no way near as good as the Xbox 360. Long story short, the other day me and some friends wanted to play a game on the PS3, we spent almost an hour trying to figure out how, only to find out we couldn't be in a party while playing Call of Duty 4. Now...Xbox 360's version of Call of duty 4 can, and with a push of a button we can have all our friends in a party. I will always be an Xbox fan boy.

END OF NERD RANT
